Now, as for the question "are these accurate," there are several extant versions of the Koran, and interested folks might want to check alternate references here at Yahoo.

There seems to be varation from one translation to the next, just as there is in the various renderings of the Christian Bible and the Jewish Torah.

Yes and no. For a muslim, the Quran carries no true authority in other than the Arabic. Some of the English language versions have been sanitized (somewhat) for Western consumption.
