A personal story about a bracelet. A few years ago, I finally joined the V.F.W. During the Veteran's day activities a few years ago the bartender "Lisa", told me how she still had her POW bracelet and asked, since I had a computer if I'd look up "her" POW, and find out if he had made it.

I said sure, let me see the name. As soon as I saw the name, I said, Yeah, he made it back. I then told her that "her" POW was from our community, Lancaster Ca. I also told her that we (the community) bought him a brand new corvette when he came home. The POW I'm talking about is David Rehman, sat in the back of an F-4 phantom, shot down in November 1966. For those old enough to remember the bracelets, HE was the POW whose picture appeared on the matchbooks that were used to sell the bracelets. He truly is an AMERICAN HERO, and I (not a hero) had the privledge of having dinner with him when he first came home. We bought him his car with the proceeds of selling bumper stickers that said "WELCOME HOME DAVID REHMAN". Upon receiving the keys to his new car, he turned and asked who he could thank, was told that as he drove the the community and saw "his" bumper stickerk, that was who to thank. The guy that started the committee that made this wonderous event happen was a doctor, Dr. Mirsner. Semper Fi my friends
