Actually, fat does not make you fat. It is easier for the body to burn off fat than carbohydrates. A high fat, low carb diet is better than a low fat, high carb diet if you want to lose weight.
Biggest misconception out there. I've read Dr. Atkins as well as Brian Peskin. Trust me.
If you binge on carbs without working out, you will build fat stores. However, if you eat fat you will definitely gain weight. The trick to Atkins and Peskin is in giving up carbs completely. Not very likely.
Far better is a diet low in fat, high in fiber, eating and exercising moderately.
