Sounds like Singleton needs to find a place where he would be more comfortable - like Antioch or Evergreen.

Everyday more secretaries should stand up to professors. After all, a PhD hung on the wall of an idiot isn't something to be impressed with.

I've worked with doctors, lawyers and college PhD's and by far and away, the latter are the most unreasonable and jerkish of the three groups. They truly have bought into themselves, believing that they know everything about everything.

Now it would appear that many call for us to restrain our patriotism lest we offend those who aren't even citizens of this country.

I say they can all be damned, and go back to the sand farms they came from if they don't like it, but we Americans must never allow the discomfort of one who is not one of us to ever stop us from declaring our allegiance to our country and/or to God.

“There is nothing that I can say that will make anybody understand the social context in which this occurred,” he said.

You g.d. right, punk.

Or Havana or Tehran.

How come none of these assholes ever regrets having made the decisions they have made until after they get caught? Never mind. Rhetorical question.

I am not ashamed of our Flag. I am ashamed of those who are offended by it.

“The campus is filled with American flags,” she said Thursday night. “Holy Cross stands for academic freedom.”

The second comment is completely irrelevant to the first. Academic freedom is not the issue here.

I have no idea what Singleton's background may be but I do know that the Marxists, Socialists and Communists have been infiltrating our universities for decades. I imagine Singleton's agenda was set back a year or two by the events of 11 September.

"There is nothing I can say to anybody that can explain the social context in which this occurred."

If this professor is that inarticulate and unable to express himself, or that dishonest, he should be fired. It figures these folks were from the sociology department, which is a usual gathering place for anti-American lefties.

Royce Singleton's website is here. You can e-mail him at rsinglet@holycross.edu.

Not that I would encourage writing Professor Singleton. But if you must, please do be very, very polite. There's nothing that a liberal hates more than a polite conservative.

I think we need some background on the Professor who took this flag down. For starters, was he one of the "400 Professors" who attacked Bush, and who attacked the Supreme Court? That's Prof. Sean Wiltitz' group -- he's at Princeton.

The (More er Less) Honorable Billybob,
cyberCongressman from Western Carolina

Click here for Billybob's latest, "Bush is DEAD Wrong." The next, "The ONE Commandment," will be posted after al Qua'da and Taliban are gone, or in about 48 hours.

Click here and go to "ALCU Watch" for "The Law of War," a detailed legal discussion of how the US declares war, both historically and in this instance.

For a clear discussion of the difference between what the US can constitutionally do in wartime with aliens (but NOT with US citizens of foreign extraction), see my book, Manzanar, published in 1988.

When asked why he burned the cross in front of the Black Student Union, Professor David Duke said "“There is nothing that I can say that will make anybody understand the social context in which this occurred,” he said.

I wonder how THAT would be received at Holy Cross. Academic freedom and all that.

Isn't Holy Cross where FBI agents predominantly come from?

Well, that explains a lot.
