Think I should post a thread? It would probably get pulled. Feel free to link to it on other threads. :-)

I think it's great, too!

the A-10 is the manliest and best looking plane in the U.S. military.

Let me make this completely clear. When you are in deep kim-chee and things are looking bleak. When help seems to never arrive, When that "hog" shows its snout and gives you close-in fire support, low and slow, it is the most "BEAUTIFUL" mean-ass plane in the fleet. She is my savior (more than once).. I LOVE her!!

why the U.S. felt a need to attack a column of civilian vehicles like that, I wanted to see him tried as a war criminal

Once again you demonstrate your stupidity. The Iraqi's had siezed anything with wheels, loaded it up with booty from Kuwait and was making tracks for Baghdad. They knowingly entered a free-fire zone. 'sides don't you think that about a hundred wrecked and burning vehicles would signal that they should turn back??? But no, these criminals just tried to run the gauntlet. They got what they deserved. If in your sick and twisted canadian pacifist mind you have some notion that this was one big convoy allow me to straighten you out. This occured across several days. But I guess that that fact is wasted on you. Unless you were there, I would highly recommend that you keep your opinions to yourself. All you end up doing is demonstrating your ignorance. And boy, do you do a good job.

(as opposed to capturing them, since they were no longer a threat).

If they surrender and give up thier guns THEN they are not a threat. WHen they are in a vehicle, firing on our aircraft, they are a TARGET. OBTW Dain Bramage, unless I haven't been clear. I WAS THERE!

They were sent to me via email, so I don't know who created them.

The person who sent these usually sends stuff I have already seen on FR, so I had to compliment her for being first this time! :-)

I have thought about the bandwidth issue too. I have had a cable modem for 3 years now and forget about those out there who are still dialing in. For those people......sorry!

Flame me if you want, but in my opinion that "Highway of Death" was one of the low points in U.S. history. When I saw General Colin Powell on television explaining why the U.S. felt a need to attack a column of civilian vehicles like that, I wanted to see him tried as a war criminal.

You couldn't be more wrong - as others have eloquently pointed out. But let's assume for a moment that you are correct. In war, (and make no mistake - we are at war), a message must be sent. Maybe this was a message. Those few that survived will never forget the hell that rained down upon them.

Many Japanese will never forgive us for Hiroshima, but Japan WILL NEVER go to war again against the U.S. THAT IS THE MESSAGE.

There are the usual anti-war protestors out there every day and they fall into two camps: cowards; fools who are too stupid to learn the lessons of history. GWB is a student of history. A message will be sent.

Crusader isn't operational yet.

But when it is, it has an interesting capability: it can fire multiple rounds in rapid succession, at differing barrel elevations and propellant loading. Since it is all computer controlled, up to 4 (or 5?) rounds can be precisely launched at the correct time, elevation angle and powder load so that all of the shells arrive at the target at approximately the same instant.

This provides the ability to put a lot of simultaneous firepower at a location, before the enemy has a chance to move away from the position. Multiple Crusaders at different locations can be linked to further multiply the amount of explosives arriving simultaneously.
