Fallen heroes...patriots...and damned funny guys.
Nothing I need to say to convince anyone. Read for yourselves.
God bless you, Herb and John. Rest easy, and thanks for the laughs.
Love,
Merc

I propose ofMagog fly a special flag on his vessel with a picture on it of a phlying phish.
When CHIEF was not leading us astray, navigating, he loved to phish...
We weep for ourselves for the loss, while he stands tall and proud in heaven, telling us to shape up and rejoice for HIM!
Our own RECON MARINE, leading the way and eager to welcome each of us...
we love you, Herb.
Shucks!
I've been a part of many families from my personal family to the Marine Corps to AA to FR.
They've ALL been dysfunctional in some way!
As far as I know, FReepers are welcome.
I plan to be there and I know of four more FReepers from the Houston area who will be there.
A proud salute to these great FReepers from one who has enjoyed their many contributions.
A wonderful bookmark and memorial.
LOL..I know......love ya, Merc.
Sad and funny BTTT!
And our one purpose in life is to restore the U.S. Constitution.
We must take Herb's untimely death as a signal -- Argue as we may, our goal is unchanged -- FReedom!
And to do that, We the People must take control of "They, the government!" We the People must persevere in exercising our God given Rights to control our government.
It is, after all, OUR GOVERNMENT!"
Ours is supposed to be a government "of, by and for the people." It is not; our government is a government of, by and for the government.
Our best rememberance of Herb Meadows is to renew our commitment to restore our government to one that respects and is respectful of the maxim that ". . . Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, . . . ."
That will be Herb's enduring legacy -- we must continue to work for returning our government to one that respects the Constitution. If we can do that, then we will have validated Herb's life.
I, for one, pledge to work to that end. Not only for Herb Meadows and his family, who knew full well what he was up to, but for my children and grandchildren, and all Americans.
I can think of no finer legacy to leave to those who follow behind us.
I know that the FRee Republic is the key to "one nation, under God, indivisable, with liberty and justice for all."
That is what this is all about, my FRiend.
Very well said, my FRiend. When you see something like what happened to the CHIEF, it reinforces one's reluctance to share too much info on a Forum where so many people have access to the information. That's why I find it so important to attend as many FReepin' Events as I possibly can, because there's nothing like shaking someone's hand and looking them in the eye to engender Trust (plus, FReepin's a HOOT!!)
So, for all you Keyboard Patriots out there, Reach Out and FReep Someone!!
FReegards and thank you for your Service to this Country...MUD
WOW...how many years have I been here? And I had no idea we had a Memorial Site...my bad.
Mr_Magoo, can you link me to said site?
FReegards...MUD
Each FReeper plaque has a link to tribute threads and the Homepage of the FReeper. They are in order as to when they died.
I know that the music link is goofy. I will correct that next time I have to add a plaque. It is supposed to be bagpipes playing Amazing Grace.
