It's not my first choice, but if it's my only choice I would grab that .22 rifle. It's not heavy, it's accurate, and the bullets are also not heavy so you can carry a lot. The .22 pistol is what's in my get-away bag, and that would do if necessary.

My origional choice was a handgun (I am a city dweller) and .22 is a good choice for ammo availabilty.

A .22 does not have stopping power. You have to go with headshots.

I remember seeing combo guns - I can't remember which European company made them - 12GA Side by Side with a .22 barrel under and in the center. Other mixes were available too.
