That is not the issue, free speech is.When I did "floor nursing" I prayed and read scripture with patients all the time.Today I would get fired for that.

I don't believe in pushing it down anyones throat..but it is a legitimate subject for discussion.

I am offended by the filthy language and TV shows..all of that is covered by "free speech" but Gods name is forbidden.....Remember 9/11...

Frankly, I don't think we know enough about this case .when I worked, I used to have discussions with co-workers about Religion and one time another one made me rethink the situation . ahe asked if PROLONGED discussion of Religion on company time might be stealing from our employer. After thinking about it, I realized that break or lunch time was OK, but work time wasn't necessarily a good time for witnessing .
Praying over patients and even the machinery can't hurt and might help .
Then again, it may depend on the length of the prayers . I have had people say grace over lunch that lasted until time for dinner (slight exaggeration).
Like I say, we don't know enough about the case to have a real good answer,IMHO

The only part that really bugged was the company claiming that other employees could sue it for creating a hostile work environment if they let this guy stay.

This guy should consider what happens to Christians in Afghanistan and Africa. All he did was lose a job.

To be an effective witness he needs to do his job well, anyway.

I have no problem with an employer being allowed to discriminate for any reason. The good ones aren't interested in gender, race or religion, just getting the job done. The bad ones go out of business.

Of course, the government disagrees.
