Dear LavaDog:

It's so patently obvious that Toobin is a left-wing puppet...he can't even get his supposed "facts" straight.

Those protestors he was complaining about were NOT organized by the Republican Party. Unlike the paid thugs the Democrats have brought in to every protest (we've seen them brought in - by bus! - to a rally in Dallas when The Rapist came for a big fund raiser in January of 1999), these folks were from FREE REPUBLIC, got there on their own dime and their own time, and did their own thing out of a sense of duty to their country.

If this buffoon can't even get the ancillary facts straight, why should I bother investing so much as an ounce of confidence in his other wild fabrications?

The following rant was not directed at you, LavaDog, but the creeping crud who actually believe this tripe.

I beg to differ with you. Most of the world KNOWS Gore "tried" to steal the election with the help of the media. They lost and MOst of the world is glad Gore lost. Even some Democrats are saying they are glad GW is President instead of Gore.

Don't believe that media hype that the world looks down on Bush. They are still messing with your mind if you allow it. Be strong and resist the nightly news bums telling you what you believe.

People are going to make what they will of the election of 2000. The results, catastrophic results, are facts that Americans will live with. And die with. Gore would have addressed the root problems of 911 instead of taking the prior month off to go on vacation, like bush did.

WHHHHHooooooo CARES!! AL GORE.... YOU LOST. This Toobin guy needs a really good job. One to keep him occupied. It seems he has way to much time on his hands. Perhaps he could be used to clear mines in Afghanistan?

He also lamented how "Republicans and their supporters were tougher, they were smarter, they were more ruthless.

He forgot to say that Democrats were dumb wimps who weren't taught the proper way to vote 2 times each.

Gore won the election, huh? Then why won't the media release the the Florida recount they just completed?

On another topic, Madeleine Albright stated last night on Fox News, "The O'Reilly Factor" that Bill Clinton bombed a biological weapons manufacturing plant in the Sudan in 1998. Didn't anyone tell Madeleine and Willy it was really an aspirin factory and the owner already received a multimillion dollar settlement in U.S. Federal Court from the U.S. Government for Clinton's mistake?

Gesh... these scum make me puke.

Yet another topic... It's 9:35 pm here in San Diego and we've had only one small group of five trick or treaters all night :( We usually have dozens, if not a hundred or more.

I couldn't bear to watch her this morning-- had to turn to PBS (I'm too poor for cable) and watch "Teletubbies" instead...

And those fuzzy lil' perverts were jumping around shaking their a$$es and grabbing their crotches to a disco beat the whole entire time. No wonder the kiddies are growing up to be sluts. I was shocked, I tell you. Shocked.

There were 122,000 over votes in Cook County(Chicago)

There were over 24,000 over votes in Duval County(Jacksonville)

There were over 19,000 over votes in Palm Beach County.

An over vote is a ballot with two holes punched for one office, which invalidates the vote for that one office. There was massive ballot tampering in key counties by Gore operatives in which a predetermined number of ballots already cast would pass through a device which would punch a Gore hole. All the Gore ballots were unchanged because the Gore hole had already been punched, but all the ballots passed through the device with a vote for a candidate other than Gore woud be an over vote and not counted.

It would have been completely successful had it not been for the "butterfly" ballot. All the devices used in the tampering were prepared in advance and all used in Florida were designed to punch the second hole. Gore was the second hole in all punch card counties in Florida except one, Palm Beach County. This is the reason Buchanan received 3,400 votes in Palm Beach County. Buchanan was the number two hole in Palm Beach County. The mistake was discovered in the early afternoon on election day by the DNC, the ballots could not be thrown out because they were individually accounted for so that afternoon the DNC started a campaign to blame their tampering mistake on the good folks of Palm Beach County. They even used a telemarketing firm in Wichita Falls to call democrat voters in Palm Beach County up until midnight trying to convince the voters the ballot confused them. The ballot confused the tampering device(there are no names on the punch cards), not the voters.

If you need proof start with the map called Bush Country with the counties Bush won in red. Then move to the statistics of the Florida election. The absolute proof is in the punch card ballots. Look at the statistics of all the over votes, look at what holes were punched on the over votes, and there is only one conclusion, ballot tampering by Gore operatives.

I just read your profile - interesting, and because you took the time to write coherently about yourself, I'll show the same respect.

I'll make this brief, because I'm on a deadline, but with all due respect, I believe you're 180 degrees off the mark on this one. During the pre- and post-election events, I spent a LOT of time researching, researching, researching. Even the fact that Gore picked those three counties to recount were against Florida law. The state statutes clearly state that a recount may not be emarked upon unless it would change the result within that county. All three counties were in no danger of not being for Gore - they already were. This statute was used by Steele (Barry Richard's law firm), and included in the written arguments. That was a statute that I found in the State's website, verified with a number of attorneys, here and elsewhere, and had personally verified with a Director at that law firm ... who also verified my interpretation of the statute.

But that aside, may I suggest you read Bill Sammon's book "At Any Cost." It is excellent, and concisely shows the timeframe of all that happened.

Whenever the "Bush stole the election" canard is brought up, just remember the two timezone debacle in the Florida panhandle, and the military ballots. There was no credible evidence - not a shred - of black disenfranchisement. There was plenty of proof of military disenfranchisement. The punch card ballots were being physically abused, if you will, by the Democratic counter, and the physical evidence of these ballots were being degraded with every count. At no time - not once- was Gore ahead.

The method of vote counting bordered on mystical, and was highly inconsistent. Deadlines were missed. The Florida Supremes attempted to make law, not interpret it. They were struck down TWICE by SCOTUS. The SCOTUS decision that counts, btw, was 7-2. To put that in perspective, the 5-4 SCOTUS decision upholding Roe v. Wade

Please, if we're going to have a serious discussion on this, we need to work on hard and verifiable facts. What I believe is that the Daley machine was not successful in accomplishing their goal: to stack the votes in Gore's favor using the punch card ballots: a staple in Cook County, IL, where the Daleys hail from. The dimpled chad could ONLY be created with the use of the "fraud rod": a long, metal rod which is used to punch through a stack of ballots, either the create new vote, or to spoil existing ballots. The ballots at the bottom did not get a clean punch - they got a dimple. Try it someone with a stack of computer punch cards.

Moreover, Florida A.G. Butterworth improperly used his position as head of the FL Gore campaign to pressure precincts to request recounts, even when they didn't want to. Katherine Harris was not THE head of Bush's campaign in FL as Butterworth was - it was an honorary title for her, and she was one of maybe 25 in the state. She, however, followed the law as stated. The Florida Supremes' statement that her "hypertechnical" following of the law was shameful. If the law says "shall," it means you have no choice. Turn the parties around on this one. How would it seem if a Republican State Supreme Court said that a Democratic SOS relied on a hypertechnical use of the law, and attempted to rewrite law, where it is not their charge under the Florida State Constitution? Only the legislature can make law.

I've got to get back to work. Best...

Yes but you make it sound like a prize fight not an election. Surely no-one wants to win unfairly, or by cheating. Those aren't conservative values.

Not a case of whether the world looks down on Bush or whether they revere him. The question is: Did he win? And what does it mean for us if he actually did not? This concerns me.
