Funny you mention that- one reason I feel fairly hopeful about the new generation is my nieces- they tell me, "Thanks, Uncle John, but I'll get my own news..." and then do their own research- mainly via the web.

And I think that's great!

They are thinking for themselves, and reading a lot of different views, and forming their own conclusions.... much like I did 35 years ago, but they have easier access to so much more differing information.

When I was a kid, I could've cared less about politics and all. When I turned 18, I registered as a Democrat, because the Democrats had better looking candidates. And then when I voted, I voted for the guy that seemed the nicest. Ross Perot was the first one to grab my attention and make me think. Bill Clinton turned me against the Demoncrats and into a Conservative. That's one thing I do thank Clinton for! LOL.

So anyway, my brother has always been pretty interested in politics. But my sister wasn't. She seemed to lean to the left on a lot of issues. But she knew that I was very into politics and current events, so when she had a report to do on that kind of subject, she came to me. Of course... we did all our research right here. Now, she hardly asks for my help. But I'm so excited that she uses FR for research! She just finished a report on whether guns save lives, or take lives. Using FR, she came to the conclusion that guns save lives. I'm so proud of her!

So a great big BUMP IN THE NIGHT for a GREAT thread that will definately help all of us FReeping research fanatics. LOL
