I like O'Reilly (I didn't say I agree with him on everything) for the simple reason he doesn't p*ss on my leg and tell me it's raining.

Personally, I don't think he's "pithy" enough.

Always a magnet for controversy, O'Reilly has been relentless in his criticism of Sen. Hillary Clinton, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and House Majority Whip Tom DeLay.

Well someone has to do it!

O'Reilly is fine and turns over rocks that the mediadiots wouldn't touch. However, I find myself being less able to actually watch him. He is getting ruder and ruder and his rudeness detarcts from everything else about the show. Note carefully how he will ask a guest a question and as the guest answers, O'Reilly will interupt, and ask another question. The show will also begin to suffer as regular folks simply won't allow themselves to be subjected to that kind of treatment. The folks that will appear are the Begalas and Emanuels of the world, folks who are lying no matter what they say, because even if they get out half a lie, they figure they are still ahead. No, Bill is getting worse on air and people will quickly begin to tire of his rudeness.

There's an elite club of journalists who report for each other, not for the folks. These people are never going to alienate powerful people because they want to be liked by them.

This is why Bill O' is so effective: he could care less if he's liked, especially by his peers in the media and, especially, politicians. And it's also why he's so powerful: These people he doesn't care!

Because they want to be loved. They want to be accepted by the people they're reporting on. There's an elite club of journalists who report for each other, not for the folks. These people are never going to alienate powerful people because they want to be liked by them. Since nobody likes me, I don't have that problem.

Hehe.

O'Reilly has a big ego. When the ratings showed him to be number one, his ego spun out of control. He decided that he is always right and be damned anyone who disagrees with him because after all he is "number 1".

The charities attack is great but it bailed him out because after September 11, the confrontation thing was a losing tactic. O'Reilly was not able to adjust and was coming off as a beligerent bully. His crusade against fraudalent charities has been a great service but when it is over he will go back to being a beligerent bully again.

As the self-appointed, conservative voice of outrage for the working class

Self-appointed? Is this supposed to be like "so-called?" O'Reilly isn't self-appointed, he's just the first to break through at what he's doing.

Sometimes I love Mr. Bill, sometimes I hate Mr. Bill...I suppose that is some evidence that he is fair and balanced.

There's no disputing that. Less than 20 percent of the money raised by the Red Cross for 9-11 will go to the families. All I can do is report the truth. Americans can make up their own minds.

Perhaps we should let Mr. O'Reilly know he's on to far more truth than the American public's willing to take (or the press is willing to allow) in this instance.

— He's been called "arrogant," "obnoxious," a "know-nothing blowhard" and a whole lot worse.

This is funny coming from ABC, home of Peter Jennings. Jennings would much more closely fit the description of "arrogant, obnoxious, and know-nothing blowhard."

BILL O'REILLY at 9:36am ET
You can believe whatever you want to believe. But I deal in facts. The facts are that the vast amount of money being raised is not even close to going to the grieving people.

"Very effective, I'm sure Mr. Vole but this is a court; and in a court we deal with the facts, and the fact is..."

Agatha Christie, Witness for the Prosecution

I remember that line from performing the play.  The first thing that popped in my mind was.."Hm...I know that".

Anyone wonder **now** why the O'Reilly show is so popular??

What we really like is that he understands that we won't all, always agree with him. (We don't *always* agree with every position he takes in this house. But we certainly DO agree with him about MOST of his views!!)

Its so refreshing to have someone like him in the Media today. Anyone who has been watching him over the last couple years, **knows** he has started the **majority** of major investigations by the news media since the inception of his television show. Bill mentions it,... starts to look into it,..and three weeks later its on CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN!!

Bill Rocks!!!!!!

(Wish I could get a free autographed book from him :o)

For those of us who have been Fox-deprived for too long, next Thursday is our day to sing. Finally, Cox cable listened to all the consumers who wanted choice and added FNC. It took a lot of effort, though. I've never encountered such a pig-headed company. It took a war to change their minds.

Bill O'Reilly is a pompus ass and is anything but conservative. He used to be one of my favorites but since his jump in ratings he has fallen to the same illness that seems to affect all news commentators. He is believing his own press.

His pathetic treatment of our President after the evening national news conference a couple of weeks ago put me in the position of deciding that along with the dweebs at CNN, CBS, NBC, and ABC, Bill O'Reilly is no longer welcomed in this household.

I've watched O'Reilly for over three years and still enjoy his show, most of the time. That generally applies to all of FNC programming. They do good work, but it's the nature of cable TV news to repeat the same stories over and over. I like the grind and intensity of good journalism, but I can only take so much of the same stories repeated to adnauseam.

In his heart of hearts, Bill O'Reilly is an old time New York City liberal. His favorite politician of all time is Bobby Kennedy and his love for BIG government programs shows his true colors. In some respects, O'Reilly is a neo-conservative, like Bill Kristol and Bill Bennett.

If nothing else, Bill O'Reilly is entertaining and usually informative. While he can be a lovable creature, O'Reilly remains a pompous and arrogant arse.
