"It's hard to forget the story of Tyra Hunter, a transgendered hairdresser in Washington, D.C., who died a few years ago following a car crash. Hunter didn't get the treatment that might have saved her life because a fire department emergency worker on the scene got freaked out by her male genitalia."Pure BS! Even during the 70's and 80's, when I first went through paramedic training, we were professionals! This would never have happened!

This happened in the District of Columbia, where incompetence and unprofessionalism are the norm in city government. The story is true. The incident occurred in 1995.
