November 14, 2001 -- PEOPLE who live around Rockaway's own ground zero are not swallowing the story that this was an accident.

"I feel, and I've felt it is terrorism. When investigators make my house a crime scene, and I see [fighter] jets screaming overhead, I tend to think they have really got us scared.

Sonic boom? Plane must have accelerated to 700 mph while it was falling apart.

He didn't say that the sonic boom was fromthe crash...he mentioned it after he spoke of fighter jets overhead. Now it's against AF and Navy reg's for a pilot to cause that in populated areas but as a neighbor of NAS Oceana I can tell you it happens fairly often.

Let's face it,it's a lot more exciting to be able to talk (boast?)about a plane that went down in your neighborhood that was brought down by something sinister, instead of one that "just" crashed.

Oh yeah....I'm sure these people are just thrilled to have had THREE F*cking airplanes crash into inhabited buildings in their city in the last 2 months. Makes the rest of us jealous too!

That has got to be one of the stupidest and most insensitive things I've ever seen posted here. To suggest that these people enjoy BOASTING about terrorist attacks when so many of their friends , family and neighbors lay dead is beyond belief.

Thank you - that "blame the victim" comment was the height of arrogance and insensitivity. But anything it takes to back the government line, I guess.

Speaking of straw-man arguments - discounting the claims of eyewitnesses because they just want to tell a good story of how their neighbors were blown to bits? Mocking the suspicions of people who have lost friends and family just two months earlier to airplane terrorist attacks? I guess you bought the "drinking from a country stream" anthrax explanation we were spoon fed, until the evidence tore that cover-up to shreds.

But they did say - George Black said - this investigation COULD take up to a year before we know what happened!

To me - that statement is totally unacceptable!

No matter what the cause.

the report I heard on the radio said that there were several people who were actually looking at the plane during the moment that it blew up. They say it just blew up from the fuselage and then went into pieces and came right down.

But you're right about the guv lying, they have reason to lie. It is part of the war effort.

How strange....... a year to investigate and at the same time they can already tell it's an accident and in fact were able to tell us that within minutes of the crash.....

I cannot believe you are talking like this. People that I've seen on tv have not been 'boasting'. Where do you get this idea that people are boasting? People are in shock and they are grieving. I don't think you have a real sense of the level of disaster and pain these people are enduring.

You said it! That comment yankeedame made is the stupidest and most insensitive I have seen on this site in a very long time. Totally disgusting!

I don't think it was a sonic boom from the fighters, just the afterburners kicking in. There were two F-15 flying at around 500 feet right after the crash and every time they turned the burners lighting were pretty loud (I was fishing about 2-3 miles away and they were turning right over my head).

It's amazing how quickly the Feds and the media went into "only an accident" spin control, implying that anyone who would think otherwise is a nutty conspiracy theorist.

The only folks I've seen going into "it's only an accident" are those people here on FR scoffing at the very notion that it's an accident.

All the media and government reports I've seen quickly state that they have yet to rule out foul play.

While I have my own suspicions, sounds pretty darn reasonable to me not to jump to any conclusions.

Job 4:18 Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: 19 How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth? 20 They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it. 21 Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.

Gosh, we must be listening to entirely different news broadcasts. Foul play is the last thing mentioned in every report I hear, and even then it is said to be "highly unlikely" or "practically ruled out". More credence has been given to wayward birds, though I don't remember birds causing planes to crash into the WTC and the Pentagon. Speaking for myself, I have not jumped to any conclusions, but like you, am awfully suspicious, and I find it an insult to my intelligence both here at FR and listening to media/government that terrorism is far-fetched in this case.

Let them scoff. In a few weeks we'll know for sure this was a freak accident.

Of course! Just like Flight 800.

FBI and FAA say "center fuel-tank explosion" - nothing to see here, move along. And then after 911, two SENIOR xlinton administrative-types are talking about other terrorist attacks on the country, "like Flight 800"...

We report, YOU decide.

And we all know these "neighbors" are experts at everything.

FWIW, to my mind these folks are living in a war zone. I'd say they've earned the right to an opinion, expert or not. Cut'em some slack. In any case, if the experts are willing to lie (hypothetically speaking, let's say), what good are they anyway?

The govt said the NTSB would be in charge of the investigation BUT the flight data recorder was in the hands of the FBI!

Good Sense is Politically Unrighteous

New Yorkers may have hope yet.

About how many more dead bodies will they tolerate before they no longer tolerate the fed? If the fed had not been so wicked and fanatical all the years up untill this day, perhaps someone would be justified in listening to them.

Perhaps now you are ready for this:
A false witness will perish, and whoever listens to him will be destroyed forever.
