We are afraid to declare an actual, full-scale war, because the real hidden and faceless enemy we are confronted with is: moral self-doubt.

I think the media promotes this kind of thinking, and certainly many of those in academia. But the overwhelming majority of hard working, tax paying American citizens have no such reservations about declaring war or moral justification. The difference between world war II and now is the fact that we are not at war with a country this time around ... and no, we don't want to kill innocent people who are victims of the very evil we are fighting. But we will destroy the enemy anyway. It will be done in a different way this time.
