Nebraska and Texas are guaranteed BCS bowls, while BYU has qualified, if the numbers hold up the next 2 weeks.

If you finish in the top 6 you are guaranteed the 15 million and the BCS bid.

They would go to the BCS since the Big 12 champ has an automatic birth. Speculation is Fiesta or maybe Sugar.

This is a projection and not the "official" BCS results of the week...

I must assume that Miami is ranked #1 in all computer polls to have such a wide gap between them and Florida. Over the weekend, they projected Florida's strength of schedule to be #10 at the end of the season. Miami cant be in the top 25 of SOS.

Texas, Nebraska and Oregon given their one loss and relative ease of schedule, don't belong in the top five.

Oh, I get it. A Volunteer fan. You get to prove your worth on the field this Saturday. If you win, you're probably in. If not, shut up.

Since only two teams in any conference are allowed a BCS slot, Nebraska and Texas are not guaranteed a BCS bowl unless they finish first or second. Nebraska is almost assured of an atlarge spot while Texas will get in only as long as they beat Colorado.

Actually I'm a Vanderbilt guy whose team got spanked by UT Saturday. I like Texas because my cousins played there in the early 1970's, but the Big 12 can't touch the SEC on a week in and week out basis. I don't look for UT to take Fla. this weekend, and won't lose any sleep if they don't. I do however hate Steve Spurrier with an intense passion. Hookem Horns.

Let BYU play in the SEC and see what their record would be!

Uh...since Nebraska has the BEST strength-of-schedule of the Top 5, you wouldn't be biased against them would you?

It appears that no one on FR understands how the BCS rankings are used to determine BSC bids. Six of the eight BCS spots go to winners of conferences (ACC, Big East, SEC, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10). The other 2 are chosen by the BSC committee. But they do not have to choose the highest-ranked unchosen teams; and they cannot choose teams unless they rank high enough in the BCS rankings (for example, as of last week, BYU was ineligible for BCS, even though it was undefeated.)

Didn't Illinois secure a BCS spot by winning the Big-10?

My prediction:

The National Champion will be wearing orange.

(not such a tough prediction since Miami, Florida, Texas and Tennessee have the best chances and they ALL wear orange!)

After a 62 to 36 loss this late in the season, bias has nothing to do with it.
