Jacksonville, Florida Freepers???

www.jaxgop.org is the web address for the Jacksonville GOP. They're a great group of folks. I was a member of the county's GOP executive cmte from 1996 to 1997 when I moved to Chicago for a job transfer.

They have their party headquarters in a building on the east side of University Blvd, between Beach and Atlantic Blvds, behind some building (I think it was a doctor's office). They are a friendly bunch, and always looking for people to get involved.

I live about 90 minutes north in Ga., and my wife was First Flute, Principal Chair in the JSO about 20 years ago- it's a decent city. Subscribe to the Florida Times-Union, a great conservative paper.

Not true in the least, if you like music that is. The Times Union Center for the Performing Arts and the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra have outstanding offerings and a full schedule of events. Everything from the occasional opera to regular concerts to the occasional big budget Broadway production blowing through town.

That just can't be.

Obviously you have never ventured into the "real redneck" areas for some stimulating fish fry's, bar fights, tractor pulls, whittlin' or fiddlin' contests, etc.

If you live in the area and haven't enjoyed these cultural experiences, then you have nobody but yourself to blame.
