Public opinion certainly matters. But not public opinion of the ad campaign. That was a large part of the article, that the problem with the efforts so far is that they were meant to be "nice". This is an attempt to disturb and shock, which they realize is going to make the campaign unpopular. The question is the effect on peoples opinion of the issue, not the campaign.

Yes, I do understand that the images are designed to be a slap in the face. A slap in the face only works for people who are hysterical. Everyone else just gets pissed.
BTW: I like your handle. Old Slab Sides has always been my favorite.
