You said it better than I could, Mr. Axtell. You wrote a great tribute to Jim and to Free Republic. I could tell it came from the heart.
The spontaneous show of support on this thread from freepers is most telling. It should give pause to those who seek to destroy the most influential, varied, informative and witty conservative web site in the nation.
Mr. Robinson puts his whole life into guiding and improving this forum and he does it wisely. The other sites that deal in vicious anti-FR vituperative will eventually fall from the weight of their own bitterness and discontent.
LONG LIVE FREE REPUBLIC!

Bwahaha... Say hi to Marty for me, FRiend... ;)
Is that dude/dudette schizo or WHAT, man...
To: Jim Robinson
Keep it in its current form, if absolutely necessary I would be willing to pay a monthly membership fee to keep Freerepublic alive and to help keep the idiots out. There is nothing else like it on the web. The truth is here at Freerepublic.

Thanks for bumping the thread, rintense.
I won't be chased off the forum by malcontents, RATs in disguise, Bush bashers, et al.
I enjoy the site and appreciate being able to post the Astronomy Picture of the Day,
put in my 2 cents' worth, and post pertinent articles on occasion.
I send donations monthly, and toss a little extra in the pot each quarter.
It's only fair that we support this site we use and enjoy.
Thanks again, Jim, for all your hard work and dedication to this website.

As I suggested some time ago, FR would do well to operate simultaneously at two levels: one being the present arrangement and the other being a subscription-basis/value added web resource.
Re: the latter, topical forums such as religion, etc. could be accessed for a nominal fee as stand-alone services or as elective enhancements to the subscription-based resource.
Such would amke available to the FR and to FReepers the best of both worlds.
I'd be glad to discuss this further and perhaps help to implement and promote such a plan, so contact me if you wish....

I have been coming to FR for about two years now, I enjoy it very much. Maybe there are many like me who just drop in on occasion, post a line or two, but mostly just read. I do hope it will continue.

thumbs-up for FR and JimRob ...rto
To: Jim Robinson
Those who want to keep it going speak up.
"UP!"
The only reason these people want to shut your website down is pure jealously. They are jealous of you and they hate you for your success. Just like they wish to foist the "fairness doctrine" on people like Rush Limbaugh they want you to shut up and they don't care how this is accomplished.
Judging from the number of drooling, whining, CINO, populist, wet panty, personality cult types on FR lately.. making it all but unbearable, I wouldn't call an orchestrated attack out of the question. A literal "conspiracy"
Regards Mr. Robinson.
PS: I couldn't care less about your finances or their publication. I would be willing to bet that most others feel the same way. The people who do are just looking for a stick to beat you with, so don't make a mistake by handing them one, imnsho.
To: Jim Robinson
I believe you could get enough money to run the site with advertising $. I expect there are alot of people who would like to promote their product/website on your site. I run
http://www.bushcountry.org and would pay for advertising on FR if it was offered. Just a thought. All it takes is a software program to get things rolling, and someone to set it up for you. Once its set up, you don't really have to do anything but just put the banner/textlink up on the site. Just take a look the money Newsmax gets from their advertiser!

I would say the owners operators and members of other sites shouldnt flatter themselves thinking Jim or John Robinson gives a ratsbutt about them. Compare the two; it is now like the old comparison of FR to DU. Now DU is replaced...
Have a nice time over there.

Have a nice time over there. You know what? Purely from reading the comments on "tlf" - if you didn't know the ideology that dominates the place - you might think you WERE reading DU. Their hatred for President Bush is obviously no less intense than the hatred liberal Democrats feel for him.
Strange bedfellows and all that. It's weird. They sound like my version of hell: a bunch of James Carvilles, with that continuous ugly scowl on his face and a constant stream of words coming from the pit of his rancid, hate-filled heart.
Guess I got carried away there for a minute...but it's true. Just look sometime - but make sure there's a shower nearby.

Jim, We all know how evil and powerfull the radical left has become in this country. We also know how influencial FR has become. Your Web Site has become a major asset for the cause of freedom throughout the world.
Jim, you, your partriotism, your honesty, your courage under fire, your tenacity etc etc etc. has the radical left pissing their pants. What to do? What to do? These low life slimey cowards are at their (dim)wits end. All that is left is personal attacks (Clinton legacy) and there is no one better at it than these leftoids (as in hemroid--pain in the ass, won't stay where they belong).
Jim, I suggest you use a good suppository so it won't be too painfull, sit on a real big toilet, and just pass these detractors once and for all. Flush immediately so as to not stink up the place. Their filthy stench precedes them and will certainly linger if not dealt with. Good luck.
May God protect you from the filth of the world as you do His will.

PS: I couldn't care less about your finances or their publication. Dear man, you just gave some (probably less than 10) people an outright stroke. Doncha know it drives them up the wall when we say we hope Jim drives a Mercedes and has a neato pool? :-)
To: tomkat
btw, had anyone pinged Arthur to this thread yet ? Just so you'll know, I got it. :-) Well done.

He f'in should..
The man has become (willingly or not.. it's happened) the Rush Limbaugh of the internet..
I hope he flies a lear jet and sticks his tougue out every time he passes over algor's house.
I don't care if he has a monorail system between the front door and the mailbox and I seriously doubt that others do either.
He is successful and real Conservatives reward that.. Socialists don't.
