Blast that rocked downtown Jerusalem a short time ago was the result of one or two suicide bombers in the are of Zion Square. It appears that there are many dead and injured.
How long will it be until Sharon says to the world: "Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."
sorry for the typo.....I wish I were there...and armed..
The group of 72 virgins who are rewarded to each of these murderous "heroes". They would probably be content for more peace and less of these "services" demanding heroes.
Of course they're mytical....as are any "peaceful elements among the arabs".
Rescue workers, fearing more bombs, raced to the scene to move people away as area hospitals called in volunteers.
At least two suicide bombers detonated explosives near Zion Square shortly before midnight on Saturday, police said. Either another suicide bomber or a car bomb exploded minutes later, apparently aimed at rescue service workers.
A witness said the third explosion came from a car parked outside an ice cream parlor.
At least 90 people were hurt in the blast, according to Israeli radio, and hospital officials said the injured were pouring into the city's three major health facilities. The blasts also badly damaged stores and restaurants in the pedestrian mall, witnesses said.
No group has taken responsibility for the terror attacks, but Israeli government officials blamed the Palestinian Authority, and its leader Yasser Arafat.
"This is Mr. Arafat's organization," Israeli government spokesman Avi Bazner said. "Mr. Arafat has been educating those people for months to hate Israel, to act with violence against us, to bomb us, to kill us."
Palestinian officials have not yet commented on the attacks.
The incident was the third suicide bombing targeting Israelis in the last week. The radical Islamic Jihad organization claimed responsibility for attacks on Tuesday and Thursday, the latter killing three people on a bus in northern Israel.
The latest violence came as Palestinian police arrested more than a dozen members of the Islamic Jihad, police officials told CNN.
Mohammed al-Hindi, a top Islamic Jihad operative, was among those taken into custody Saturday night after eluding police earlier in the day during a gun battle between police and al-Hindi's armed supporters.
Both the United States and Israel have demanded Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafar crack down on Islamic militant groups that have undertook dozens of attacks on Israelis in recent years.
The Palestinian cabinet said in a statement Friday that it was committed to both frameworks for renewing peace talks and urged Palestinians fighting in the uprising to heed a ceasefire call.
"The current political moment ... requires an accurate and full commitment to the (Palestinian) leadership's decision on the restoration of calm in order not to give a pretext for Sharon, who is visiting Washington, to claim that we are not committed to the ceasefire," the cabinet said.
On Friday, Israeli security sources said their forces occupied Palestinian-controlled land on the outskirts of the West Bank cities of Jenin and Nablus. The moves came as hundreds of Israeli mourners turned out to remember three people killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up on a bus in northern Israel Thursday night.
Israel has justified its frequent incursions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip as a way of stopping attacks on Israelis since peace talks stalled and a Palestinian uprising began in September 2000. Palestinians have called Israeli occupations of their territories as a violation of their rights granted under interim peace deals.

In the Old city of Jerusalem, there stands a mosque w/minaret untouched by the Israelis, however in the Jewish quarter is a destroyed synagog taken over by the peaceful religion of islam during the 1967 war. Go figure!
I wholeheartedly agree, on all points.
Revenge is sweeter to me than sarcasm.
It is my only release-valve.

What help till now in Afghanistan? If anything its been obstruction not help.
The Arab countries are just using the Israel/Palestine issue as an excuse to stay on the sidelines till they know who wins. Then they'll take sides with the winner.
