Appologies if this was already posted. Can anyone out there in freeperland confirm or deny this report? The link is not a credible source. Propaganda maybe coming out of Pakistan? I would think that if it were true, some of the loved-ones would be speaking out about the disinformation.

Not even remotely credible. Put it this way: I'd trust Clinton as soon as this.

Well, this piece of tripe says that the people in question are officially MIA. Problem is, they aren't. Nor are the listed as WIA/KIA. Therefore, this is a bunch of Taliban propaganda, the product of wishful thinking ("Surely with all that ammo we've capped off, we had to hit SOMEBODY").

These reports are all over the news in Russia. It is not possible that this many Marines were killed without 40,000 dead Taliban. A 1000 to 1 kill ratio is the worst performance I would expect from the Marines.

If we had any KIA at all, some of the bodies would be in Taliban hands. They would trumpet that; so I find these reports hard to credit on that basis.

There is little doubt the US government would attempt to obscure the number of KIA, though.

Wishful thinking on the part of the Taliban groupies, IMHO - we'll have to be ready to lose some people, but I don't think we have lost 124 of them yet. What possible need would there be for secrecy? Eveyone in the world knows we have troops on the ground, and in Iraq, in similarly restrictive security conditions, we were told right away when we lost people.

Two rules I've recently learned. 1. Pakistani press is unreliable. 2. Indian press is reliable, except as to reporting about Pakistan.

If there were a death count like this there would be grieving family members all over the media. You can't hide 124 dead military people from the lamestream media.

As soon as the families had learned that their particular sons have been killed, they would have gone to the press. There would be no way for the U.S. government to keep a lid on this; if they ship the bodies back home, people know about the casualties, if they hide or destroy the bodies they have to come up with an explanation for the missing serviceman to give to the family, if they list the serviceman as missing they eventually have to declare him dead.

This is nothing more than Islamic propaganda designed to create strife on the homefront. Don't buy it for a minute.

The DUh's actually believe this sort of thing. Except in their reports the bodies are being dumped in the ocean. What is with people? Do they think our military is only composed of orphans with no family members who are single and without friends? When someone dies there is usually a loved one left behind (at least a friend). Are they expecting our military to go "whack" some family members just to keep the story quiet? Yeeesh!

...and on the local front:

Story Link...

Pak villagers stone 100-year-old woman for 'eating' baby

AFP Islamabad, December 3

"Pakistani villagers stoned and beat a 100-year-old woman almost to death after she was accused of trying to eat a new-born baby, a report said on Monday.

The woman was beaten unconscious by a mob of people armed with stones and clubs in Shahpat village of southern Sindh province in the early hours of Sunday, the Dawn said.

She had been accused of entering a family home and trying to eat a baby. It was not known if the child was hurt.

Police said they handcuffed the woman and took her away, but the mob followed her to the cells where they continued to throw stones at her as police looked on passively, the report said.

Local people said she was retarded, although the woman, whose name was not provided, told police she was an innocent dervish, a Muslim mystic who renounces worldy things and believes in communication with god through music, dance and poetry."

I respectfully suggest that people not post such nonsense. There is no way that the truth about killed and wound can be kept from the US public today. These stories are to build morale for the Pakistan people sad about the fact that Bin Laden is getting the snot knocked out of him and that America is no paper tiger.

This number is inflated. I suspect the true number is forty-two Americans so far killed in action in Afghanistan.

This would not include merely accidental deaths wherever in the world, that those might have occurred. I am limiting this to deaths caused by the enemy.

Bodies of 124 American Troops Have Been Flown Back Home

Unfortunately our reporters were unable to determine the cause of death, as upon arrival in the United States the 124 bodies quickly walked off the planes with their gear and into waiting vehicles for transportation to other parts of tightly guarded American bases. Some of the bodies have been reportedly released to their families for something American authorities are calling R&R.

However, we have recently learned that many of the bodies will be flown back to Afghanistan in the near future to participate in a bizarre American ritual known as bombing talibunnies.

More on this phenominon tonight! And tommorow, and the day after most likely.

INRA news, we report, kind of.

The Pakistani newspaper has most likely got good information here.

I think the government should report the American death toll once a week like they did for Vietnam. And they should have an honest death toll including both military people and mercenaries working for cia.
