I worked for the Dem. incumbent he ran against and won!

Boy, did I ever fall in love with him in the mid 80's. He slept on a couch in his office and showered at the gym. He made the democrats furious. He played an important part in my conversion to conservatism.

I wish him well, and hope his political savvy son follows in his footsteps.

Several months after his first election he told me he was living in the Congressional gym.

But, is he a millionaire now? I hope not.

I have watched his progress in the House from that election on. I love him myself.

I can remember a lot of favorite moments but my all time favorite was at the hearing with Hillary and Health Care in her first term.

He insulted her with a smile on his face and she didn't even get it at first. The look on her face was priceless. This was a time when she was truly feared and no one had the guts to go up against her and he did it! I wish I could get the quote exactly right so I could post it. :)
