There are some other good candidates, but no one, and I mean no one, comes even close to the despicable Mr. "30 Pieces of Silver" Jeffords. He ran as a Republican, using Republican money, using Republican resources, yet stabs the party in the back in favor of a chairmanship and the hopes of more pork for his state.
At first, I thought he'd have to be disqualified, due to his no longer being a RIN(O). But, the more I think about it, you're right. Jeffords was a RINO for part of the year, and thus merits consideration. And, although your summary doesn't even begin to quantify the damage done to the party -- giving total control of the Senate agenda and committees to the Dems -- it easily makes the case for his overwhelming deservedness of the award.
