The left is so predictable.

Bring out the same old stories, dust them off whenever a Republican gets the WhiteHouse.

"The rank and file are usually much more primitive than we imagine. Propaganda must therefore always be essentially simple and repetitious."

Joseph Goebbels

Adolf Hitler's Nazi Propaganda Minister

This is as expected as every time a republican is president these figures seem to rise/are inflated.

Bah! I'm always broke at Christmastime. Too much money spent on presents and more Christmas lights!

And of course, the obligatory 'Toys for Tots' load. Gives me an excuse to buy toys.

Well the "Bush ignores aides epidemic" stories must be next. Then there'll be the "Bush loves the rich hates the poor" and "Bush is going to start WWIII" stories. Just reflect on the Reagan years and you'll be one step ahead of the marxists.

It was even more amazing that the poor and hungry completely disappeared the entire time Clinton was in the White House. We never heard anything about them. All was apparently hunky-dory, poverty-wise. The day he left (blessed day that was), the unfortunates sprang back into view, thanks to the media and their fellow-traveling organizations. I think NPR was one of the first to report that the poor, the hungry and the homeless were still with us. I live in Washington, D.C. There are two whole phonebook page's worth of organizations here that house, feed, clothe, etc. the poor. I continue to give them generous cash donations, as well has having donated a small fortune in clothing, winter coats, gloves boots, whatever. So do my friends. You have to be a complete idiot (or a drugs-and-alcohol addled parasite) to go hungry, ill clad or homeless here. The whining and the claims of victimhood never end.AdR

Evidently, the leftist food stamp and welfare programs are dismal failures.

The left is so predictable.

For 8 years I watched the Thanksgiving and Christmas local news broadcasts (Channel 3 out of Hartford, CT) talk about how fortunate the hungry and homeless were to have the shelters and how everyone was being fed more than they could eat and how happy they were and, and, and.....

"Gosh things are just so wonderful here at the downtown shelters and we are hearing this from all over the state, back to you guys in the studio."

This year....you guessed it.

"It's always sad this time of year to see so many, many people and especially the children with no place to call home that are forced to depend on the meager offerings of this shelter and others like it across the state. I guess all of us should be very thankful this year. Back to you....."

The annual report found an increase in requests for emergency food assistance in 25 of the 27 cities surveyed with no change reported in the other two, Chicago and Charleston.

Does this mean that CNN wil run those pictures of starving kids in Orlando and have Christianne (Hors de combat) Amanpour reporting from DisneyWorld?

These Liberal Morons are trying their usual spin - it never changes and they are so predictable.

Me thinks this is what they are trying to make Bush look like.

Living on the street in this country is a choice. Anyone who is completely broke can get government assistance. If you don't believe me go down to the welfare office and check out the requirements.

On the otherhand, these communist food hand outs discourage self-relience. Few people will starve themselves to death is they know they are not going to get a free hand out.

I say we get rid of all the communist hand out programs. If I had the 40% of stolen income taken in the form of taxes I could afford to do alot more charity. As it is I only donate 10% of every penny I make as well as a small portion of my time.

Is there any doubt the prosperity, self-reliance, and charaty created by abolishing most taxes would take care of many problems. Most importantly people could discover what it is like to give of themselves instead of this inpersonable redistribution system we have now.

Another "Rush-ism" is proven true. He always said that the homeless seemed to have disappeared under a Clinton Regime but they would all come out of the woodwork once the Republicans were again in the White House.

The left is so predictable.

I would like for someone who knows what they are doing to try something for me. Do some kind of Nexus/Lexus search, or whatever it is for homeless stories. Do a search for the days of Reagans Presidency, Bush41's, Clintons, and W's short time in office so far. Then put together a chart or graph of some sort. I suspect that there will be a dramatic dip in the news stories starting around January 1993 and an uptick starting a few short months ago.

People starving? Not in my city. Every welfare lady I get behind in the supermarket line weighs at least 180, and the tatooed bum waiting for her in the parking lot with the car full of kids weighs at least 250. These people load up their baskets with steaks and roasts and microwave dinners that I can't afford. The lefties would be more credible if most of us didn't have this same experience when we go food-shopping. All these freeloaders have to do at the checkout is have their federal food stamp debit card swiped thru. I, on the other hand, have to pay in cold hard cash.

Hunger and homelessness rose sharply in American cities this year as the nation slipped into recession and could get worse

What?! I've known quite a few people who have suddenly lost a job, myself included. 0.00% of us went into the streets to live in a cardboard box and eat out of a dumpster.

Homelessness is not a result of a loss of a job, sluggish stock market, or an economic slump. A super-majority of homeless people are alcoholics, drug addicts, or mentally ill.

This story is just more leftist drivel. What's really sad is the number of people who believe it. During the klinton administration, all we heard about was how wonderful the economy was and how it went bad the day GW Bush was elected.

This last Saturday, my son's scout troop went over to Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco to serve food to the homeless. I went along, because it's the season to help people out. My son and the other kids served food to the almost exclusively male, about 50% mentally disturbed, majority of freeloaders. Most of them could have held jobs, but choose instead to spend their lives drifting around while supporting drug or alcohol habits.

During that time, I served breakfasts to the disabled and families, who are served in a place that doesn't have steps. ONE kid came in the whole time, with his mom, and there were probably 15 women among the 50 people that came in.

Some of the people who received free food there looked at the meal, complained loudly, and left without eating the food.

I still think that it was a positive experience for my son, because he pretty much knew that these guys were, for the most part, just taking the path of least resistance, and strengthened his desire to live well, and renewed his commitment to live a prosperous, productive life, which will prevent his having ever to take advantage of these social services.

Please, don't flame me for helping out Cecil Williams, who was involved with Jim Jone's "Peoples Temple" Guyana massacre, because I believe that this church is doing some positive work among the disturbed people who still roam the streets in liberal bastions like San Francisco.

Regards,

Yes, isn't it interesting? The homeless people apparently all moved into nice apartments during the reign of the Xlintoons since they and their bags and bundles completely disappeared for 8 years only to come out again now with W at the helm.
