How true you are, but you know, I policed for 21 years and NEVER did I see an american starve to death. Hungry, yes, but no death by hunger. A lot of the homeless is by choice. 'Will work for food'? stop and ask one to do some work and it will be the sob story of injury, sick. When I am hit up for money I will tell them I will but them meal but they just ate and need the money for later, it is the booze they are after. If they truly need help, I will get them food.

The only ones I'll give money to are the honest ones. "Why lie, I need a beer" sign carriers get a five from me. The phoney "Work for Food - God Bless" guys arouse little sympathy.
