NEW DELHI (Reuters) - A gun battle erupted in the Indian parliament complex Thursday, continuing for at least half an hour, Reuters reporters at the scene said.
A parliamentary official said at least one person was killed and possibly more after shooting erupted around 11.45 a.m. (1:15 a.m. EST) inside the compound of the parliament.
A spokesman for Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's office said Vajpayee was still inside the stately parliament building when the firing began shortly after both houses were adjourned for the day.
Star television news reported five armed intruders inside the parliament. Four had been killed.

Best Parliament gun battle caught on video was back a few years ago in Spain I beleive it was. Full Parliament chamber and throngs of people milling around threatening each other and one dude pulls out a .45 and starts waving it around and suddenly BAM!!! BAM!!!! All 200 people in ONE motion are on the floor and peeking out from behind their chairs.
All hell breaks loose and rounds start flying around and you see these guys on their hands and knees that are pinned down trying to make a break for a doorway. The whole time the guy is ranting and blazing away.
It was like a carnival shooting gallery. I don't remember anybody getting killed but it was one of the funniest video clips I've ever seen. I've never seen 100 people unass chairs in one fluid motion like that.

You think that's "funny"? Sick. Sick. Sick.

LOL. Much to the chagrin of the handwringers, violence can be extremely funny. Long live the Three Stooges.
Not to...ah...detract from the solemn issue at hand.

Also today SUMISIP, Philippines (Reuters) - Troops are closing in on Muslim guerrillas holding a U.S. missionary couple hostage for months and hope to rescue the Americans in a few days, a senior Philippine military commander said on Thursday. Muslims nutcases everywhere!
