Your questions are irrelevant to the discussion. Sounds like whining to me. Who sent you to school, the UAW? I see you forgot to correct your 'terroristic attack' flub as well.

Majoring in economics in most American universities makes one _less_, not _more_, qualified to speak on it. Subsidies? Who cares? A country cannot subsidize its way to wealth! If they are subsidizing the auto makers, they are simply paying for part of my excellent Nissan.

"I'll drive my ratteling, Made in USA Dodge into the ground before I even accept a ride a Japanese import and tell the 2,403 men at the bottom of Pearl Harbor it wasn't a terrorist attack." Not only wasn't it a terrorist attack, it wasn't even a _surprise_ attack. Perhaps Roosevelt didn't know the attack was coming at Pearl Harbor, but he knew that the US oil, steel, and rubber embargoes, _acts of war_ on the part of the US against Japan, had pushed Japan into a corner, and that they would attack the Western allies somewhere. The American government didn't suddenly realize it had to fight Japan after Pearl Harbor; it was already at war, and just hadn't told the American people.

gee, you must be from rochester ny. i am a contract (read temp; no benefits/insurance) worker at xerox and am at the end of my 18 mos. from what i can see, anyone with potential is not hired permanently. those who fill a quota or those who are already permanently hired, do not work hard and do a shoddy job. while on this job, i have been named employee of the month 7 times and have won 20 awards for my outstanding work skills, but will not see permanent employment here. they are retraining new temps to backfill the jobs that the old temps will be out of. this is an expense of over $30K per head. they will just keep the dead wood on and keep rehiring newbies until the whole place folds.
