I am in complete awe of you! That was wonderful-your opening comment (regarding you son-in-law) that brought deep emotion to our President (the ol jaw tightening thing men do, brought huge applause from the audience, and lifted the hearts of folks like myself out here in middle America, ) then your tommy daschel comment, oh DOUG, you laid it out with that comment so perfectly that I imagine tommy and his flying monkey troops, including the chief witch and war room junkie herself, will NEVER, EVER, FORGET IT!

Methinks you pissed off a rather insidious group of liberal thugs today, Doug, on National TV-GOD BLESS YOU! :^) And I could swear a brief twinge of a smile escaped our President as you framed the question about tommy "haskel". He walked away to hide it, I think! But he LOVED the meat of your question and I LOVE YOU for doing such a 100% tremendous job! You both lifted up and heartened our President and you managed to jab someone who is a thorn in our President's side (because Haskel in not honorable, no honest, and wants to twart bi-partisanship almost as much as our President wants to encourage it). I wasn't dreaming!! Unfortunately foxnews broke for a station break so we didn't get to hear what you said. When another fellow spoke and said "I too am honored to call you our Commander in Chief" I filled in the blanks and understood why Dubya seemed deeply touched. The audience was with him from the onset and everyone was flawed when Dubya said 'they will raise your taxes over my dead body' which seems to be the sound bite we will hear throughout the day.

I don't blame him for not answering the first part....but I am sure Bush DID enjoy hearing it asked in any case...:) The reason why I think he did not answer is that he only gets tough in extreme cases and while this would qualify in my book, he only uses his ammo when it REALLY gets awful. Also, he just does not want the country to have to see an AP story saying "Bush bashes Daschle and Daschle returns barbs" or stuff like that. I hope he did answer the second part of the question though....he better have answered that since there is no excuse on that one....:)
