Michael Moore & Me

Michael Moore, director of the undocumented documentary “Roger & Me” and nothing else of note, was up to his old tricks again. This time he was making up the facts about the war in Afghanistan, links between the Bush family and terrorists and calling on America to bomb (or not to bomb) Saudi Arabia.

Appearing on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity and Colmes,” Moore was forceful in his false allegations, but would trail off into mumbles and incomplete sentences when challenged by Al D’Amato.

"Why don't we look into the connection between the Bush family and Saudi Arabia. It's why this country will not really go after where this money probably came from...(trails off into mumbles).

When asked about what connection he was talking about, the producer of “The Awful Truth,” came out swinging.

"You gotta understand that The Carlysle Group, which George Bush, Sr. is a part of, is hired by the bin Ladin Family as a consultant...Bush goes there and stays at the bin Ladin palace...15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis...then the Saudis have the audacity this week to jack the price of oil up on us...(trails off into mumbles).”

When questioned on the proof of his allegations, the rotund pundit raised his hands in innocence and declared, “I’m just asking. I’m just wondering what the real story is.” This marked the only time in the show he finished a complete sentence without trailing off into mumbles.

Have you ever noticed you never see Michael Moore and Roger Ebert at the same time in the same place?

Yes, I saw this pile of unsanitized colesterol on Hannity and Combs. Can't believe FOX put this chronic-moronic on TV! I have heard better political commentary from drunks in a bar room. Incoherent ramblings. Accusations-totally false. Statements such as "Usama is on dialysis!" Granted, he was for a time. But hardly is now. What an idiot!

He should have been hit in the head with a wet rock 5 minutes after he was born!

Seriously, Moore is a Populist media darling. That makes him a member of the liberal media establishiment. Whatever spin comes out of his mouth will be repeated by many, many liberals. In his Roger and Me film, he showed his "compasion" for the poor working man by not caring a thing about the economic survival of GM, or the realities of investments in a state and City (Flint) (or Union town) that didn't really enourage GM investment.

I must say the section on Rabbits, meat or pets, was one of those defining moments for liberals (i.e. my wife). She was horified that anyone who obviously cared, would include such a harsh, cruel, and blood thirsty sceen in their film.

I think that Michael was just trying to get some face time, since his previous TV show was canceled and he is jealous of Bill O'Rieleys ability to "defend the working man" on Fox News. He is not to be taken seriously, although, many will take what he says for fact.

Is there any proof that this is a lie. I thought the connection between the Bushes and several middle eastern concerns (business and political) to be well established and the Bin Laden family (Osama excluded) is a revered and powerful Saudi family.

Bush is a director of that group; he has traveled to Saudi Arabia; but he has NEVER stayed in the palaces.

If I have invested in the Carlyle Group, does that make me IN BUSINESS with the Bushes? That's what that "claim" is based on. The fact that the bid Laden family invested with the Carlyle Group.

As for the story about bin Laden being in business with George W. Bush in Arbusto (sp), ONE of the bin Ladens put money in it. He did NOT do it for Bush; it was JUST an investment.

About three or four years ago, the Weekly Standard (I think) did a devastating cover story on him that exposed him for the hateful phony that he is. Plenty of former friends and co-workers on the left were eager to get their shots in. Can anyone find this story? I'll try...

This is just another reason why I rarely watch H and C on FNC anymore. They are just getting too predictable in their guest selection. Why give a world class as_hole like Moore ANY airtime. Everybody knows he's an idiot and will just sit there and do a foaming mouth rant for his segment. He is an intellectual lightweight and has to do "the crazy liberal act" to prevent a meaningful debate that he would likely lose.

H and C have a small rotation of the same guests that always say basically the same thing everytime. Time for some fresh faces - and they should stop cutting their guests off with a commercial break every time somebody shows some passion or raises their voice.

A reasonably good chronology of the Bush/Bin Laden/Carlyle linkage can be found here:

http://commons.somewhere.com/rre/2001/RRE.Summary.Carlyle.Grou.html

The connection between the Bush's and the Bin Laden's is stronger than simply investing in the same company, but that doesn't make it nefarious.

AR, you ahve to be a moron. It is typical of rich families to invest in other things rich famlies invest into. But Bush is no longer invested in the Caryle Group, if I believe, he divested, as did many others. This is the same crap as the phony rubber tree plantations and Brown and Root. There was a site(I forget)that debunked this crap, anyway go to the vietnam war forum at google groups, they ahve some commentary that blows the former claims out of the water.

Stupid liberals always playing half-assed, half-truth gotcha.

Michael Moore is a typical liberal idiot. "Roger and me" is one of the most lopsided pieces of reporting that I have ever seen. As someone in this thread pointed out, Moore didn't look at the fact that the unions priced themselves out of the market and drove GM to produce cars in lower labor cost areas like Mexico. Moore's solution, of course, is to tax capital (and people who hold GM stock) by forcing GM to pay outrageous union wages.
