WASHINGTON- The firm that audited the books of collapsed Enron Corp., Arthur Andersen LLP, disclosed Thursday that a "significant but undetermined" number of documents related to the company had been destroyed.
Federal law enforcement agencies and congressional investigators are seeking the documents as part of their inquiries into the failure of the giant energy-trading company, which left countless investors burned and employees out of work with billions of dollars of losses in their Enron-heavy retirement accounts.
The Big Five accounting firm said in a statement that in recent months, electronic files and other documents related to its auditing of Enron had been destroyed or deleted.

Sounds Clintonesque. I hope Bush is going to Plan B.

To: Holden Magroin

They seem to have learned well from Clinton. Torn up documents tell no tales.

"undetermined" number of documents related to the company had been destroyedWell at least the ones that might be incriminating to certain political leaders of both parties, most certainly anything that would show the liberals in a bad light.

Bush, of course, has nothing to do with this...but just from the sheer number of stories being published lately in the leftist press, the Libs are sure trying to hang this on him.

You should be holden your groin.
You're peeing all over yourself.
Bush doesn't need a Plan B.
This isn't about Bush; it sounds like it's going to be about Arthur Andersen and Enron.

Exactly. Time to investigate Arthur Andersen

Sounds Clintonesque. I hope Bush is going to Plan B. Enron beat him to it. They gave a large payment to the democrats at the end of their game.

I believe it was mentioned on another thread that Arthur Anderson not only was Enron's auditor, but had a big $$$ consulting contract with the company. It would be in AA's interest to lose or destroy incriminating documents, I should think.

I think he is holding his groin,to tightly I might add.He better let the poor bugger go so it can get some circulation back in it.

This doesn't have anything to do with Bush. It has everything to do with Arthur Anderson. This isn't the first time they've been caught taking tens of millions from the firm they were supposed to be auditing and on which investors were making decisions. But it isn't a good story looking to place some blame on the auditing firm. Instead, because President Bush is friends with the former CEO, the media want to make this non-story into a story.
