I think that the most important thing about Evan's appearance was that he was believable. I think that is ultimately the administrations strong suit. In addition, he asked Tim rhetorically, if he was supposed to make a call to the rating agency to disuade them from downgrading Enron, thus encouraging more people to invest and lose more. Just an aside, did you notice when the interview was over and they panned the set before the break, Timmy was resolutely arranging and rearranging his papers and not looking at Evans who was left to sit without any chitchat and bonhomie that Russert usually gives after an interview. Tim was very displeased. He's ususally smiling and shaking hands and trading small talk with his guests. I'd say Tim didn't get what he wanted.

regards

Tim most likely realized Evans doesn't take any sh*t and he's a real person, not a political creation like Carville.

Brit Hume is to Little Timmy Russert

as

President Bush is to SinkEmperor

But the leftists don't get it and they probably never will, they are so sure that Socialism is right. Forget that people will NEVER, EVER work for the good of others, only for themselves, AND THIS INCLUDES DEMOCRATS

(do you thing the gangs in the 'hood practice wealth redistribution schemes?)>

Yeah, I saw her on Fox a while back and I was shocked...I thought she was another newsbabe. Yeah, she's very beautiful. I bet Lynne CHeney was pretty hot back in the day. SHe's still kinda attractive...the brain in her head is sexy as hell.

If it turns out to be President Bush vs. sniveling, annoying Lieberman, I say we win easily. Especially as time goes on and the public sees that any and all "Bush scandals" are created by the RATS and the media. Bush is a clean, honest man and the public will soon tire of the left's games.

Tim Russert showed a quote by Waxman, saying (paraphrase) that the Whitehouse knew of Enron's problems and did nothing to help out thousands of people from losing their savings.

The abysmal ignorance of many in the Congress and most of the media is so transparent. Just what was the Bush administration supposed to do?

Maybe the President should have gone on TV and told the Enron employees and the stockholders that Enron was going bankrupt. The next morning, all of these people would have put their stock up for sale. Does anyone believe that the share price would have done anything but tank immediately?? Anybody?

Oh, and BTW, how many of the Enron employees who are complaining that their 401-k's are now useless and they have lost hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars are counting the "unrealized capital gains" resulting from the initial increase in share value?

Lynne Cheney was very good looking years ago, so it runs in the family. So does charm and intellect.

Just checking in with a quick synopsis so far. Because I was *very* interested in the Enron spin today, who was carrying the water and how they were going to spin it.

Now Dingle, major league water-carrier, is going to give his Enron contribution to a fund set up to help Enron workers. And I'm quite sure he mentioned this act of nobility as a challenge to Repubs to return the money they received. This is an interesting challenge. We'll see if all the other Dems agree to return Enron contributions.

Then there's Eleanor Clift and I speak softly of this lady because I know most of the males on this board have the hots for this woman. And I quote the lovely Ms. Eleanor, "You can't blame this one on Clinton. Nice try though." What planet is this woman living on? There's already been all sorts of quid pro quo's published including the very obvious involvement of Clinton's treasury secretary-Rubin- as de factor White House lobbyist for Enron. Even the Washington Post published some very telling details of the Clinton White House's relationship with Enron. Since she's so obviously lying, I can only conclude that the Dems are hoping the average guy on the street isn't paying attention.

I thought it was so disgusting when McCain and all the pundits were talking about ground troops - massive amounts - in Afghanistan. Sheesh...Thank goodness we have a commander-in-chief who cares about those guys in uniform and will not send them into battle willy-nilly.

McCain would have gotten thousands of young Americans killed.

Oh, is that the SEC's job? ;-D

It would be better to eliminate the SEC -- they provide a false security, and act much more like the gatekeepers to the circles of power. The way it ends up working is that the within the clubhouse you are safe and enfattened, outside mongrels are left lean and mangy -- and likely to be shot as whims declare.

Contract law and the law of agency is more than adequate protection for stockholders, especially given the well-trained legal wolf-packs we have these days.

Stock market regulation is Fascist.

I agree. I bet the military doesn't like McCain anymore than they liked Clinton. Did you hear what McCain proclaimed while aboard an aircraft carrier, "Next stop...Baghdad." Geez...now there's mature leadership. They guy must think he is Patton or something. Thank God for W.

I'm not sure I noticed it then but comparing what you described to his banter with Buchanan and Nader after their segment, I think you're right. Maybe Evans used a little too much logic for old Timmy Boy.

That's it?

This, my friend, is Plan B; Plan A was to try to pin it on Bush; that didn't work.

I can hardly wait to see Plan C.

The tide has turned. Bush's Whitewater? Enron made billions under IMPOTUS by buying tickets on Air O'Leary.

Lucrative power contracts in India, Mozambique, and Nigeria timed to DNC donations sure looks like quid pro quo to me.

I say the media shuts up about this by Tuesday.
