Since you don't know the difference between the Aztecs and the Incas, I'm not sure it matters what you think of my analogy.

I guess your poor reading skills won't make up for your equally poor grasp of history. Why don't you read it again, or did you miss that part in bold about the Aztecs? Figures. Public School education?

The world of the American Christian right is pretty much a black hole of the unknown to me, besides what I read in the media. So I really don't know what they're up to...

The world of the American Christian right is pretty much a black hole of the unknown to the Amercian Christian right, too. The media loves to wrongly demonize the "religious right", but then the Christian right will still produce and distribute their own false propaganda demonizing other religions. They spread misunderstanding, and confusion, but get mighty upset when they're on the receiving end.

Boy look at all those Muslim dominated countries which don't meet the "minimum standards":

Albania, Bahrain,  Bosnia-Herzegovina, Indonesia, Lebanon,  Malaysia, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates.

Of course this list also includes Serbia, Russia, Romania, Greece. Really helpful list there. At least I see the Moslems dominate this problem.

A yes, the noble Aztec culture - of child sacrifice:

You then proceeded to post an article about the Incas. In it, it mentions the Aztecs, but not in connection with child sacrifice.

I can read just fine, and I'll put my knowledge of world history up against yours, anyday. So save your insults for someone who cares.

The Aztecs of Mexico sacrificed many people, in particular captured enemies, to their gods. There are skulls suggestive of child sacrifice left from the time of the Maya

There's a lot more of their human sacrificial process on the Internet.

In India's dialect of English, a "militant" is a terrorist who targets India. I do agree that the Associated Press should have used the work terrorist even though the Times of India of Hindustan Times may not.

Islam the "peaceful" religion

Except that these folks don't appear to be Islamic at all --The National Liberation Front of Tripura seems to be a standard-issue ethnic revolutionary movement.

"Time for Musharaf to put his money where his mouth is. Those who harbour terrorists must be hunted down!"

How do you propose Musharaf "hunt down" terrorists in Bangladesh?

The Maya aren't the Aztecs, either.

Re your comment:

"95% of the world's terrorisim and 100% of the world's slavery is done in the name is Islam."

Maybe, but if so, poor India, the world's #1 terrorism victim sure gets a lot of the 5%. Another terrorist group, or to use Indo-English, another "outfit" which is hardly ever mentioned in the U.S. is the Naxalites. These monsters are plain and simple Communists.

It is true that of all the terrorists operating in India, it is the Islamists who are most likely to cross over to threaten other countries, including the U.S.

Yes, yours. The whole paragraph is talking about different cultures in the Western Hemisphere and human sacrifice in general. It then lists some of them. The Mayans, the Moches, the Incas, and the Aztecs.

There could be no child skulls of Aztec children remaining from the time of the Maya since they didn't occupy the same land.

Now shut up and quit embarrassing yourself.

You were the one who stated "Maya aren't the Aztecs, either". The paragraph doesn't state that. You read that in. The paragraph merely lists the issue of sacrifice. The Aztecs and Maya are listed as those who engaged in human sacrifice. It is taken as a given the issue of human sacrifice of the Aztecs as including child sacrifice. Instead of reading what you want to read to make a red-herring point read what's there next time. Or are you denying the Aztecs engaged in child sacrifice besides the massive human live sacrificing they engaged in including, on one occasion, 20,000 human beings?

Well, duh. The paragraph doesn't say that the Aztecs aren't the French, either. Was I wrong to read that in? Yet you actually stated above that I'm the one with poor reading skills and a poor grasp of history. That's really funny.

I have never seen any evidence that the Aztecs practiced child sacrifice. If they did, it would have probably been more along the lines of a massacre of an entire captured village. The Mayans, NOT to be confused with the Aztecs, were particularly systematic about it, however. They would distort babies' heads from birth by strapping it to a flat board, and the even sharpened their teeth like fangs with files. Some sort of beauty thing, I guess. After a few years, they'd sacrifice them at a big party. Charming.

Yes, as a plain reading of the paragraph indicates.

Thorndike, Lynn Ph.D. A SHORT HISTORY OF CIVILIZATION, New York: F.S.Crofts & Company. 1929. Hard bound with 619 pages. The late Thorndike was Professor of History at Columbia University. He was also the author of "A History of Magic and Experimental Science". He states " Among the Aztecs only the aged were allowed to drink freely; young men who got drunk were clubbed to death, and tipsy flappers were stoned to death. Both in their religion and administration of justice the Aztecs seems to have been about the most unfeeling people known to history with the possible exception of the Assyrians. Slanderers were punished by singeing their hair to the scalp with a pine torch; one who stole gold or silver was flayed alive and sacrificed to the god of the goldsmiths and the silversmiths...On the tops of the truncated pyramids the Aztec priests slashed open the breasts and tore out the hearts of human victims whose bodies were then eaten. There were festivals when infants with painted faces and paper wings were sacrificed, or when men were flayed and others danced in their skins" (pages 394-395 emphasis mine).
