Add to that report that Lay was close to Ann Richards and gave generously to her campaigns when she was running for governor of Texas. At least she had the loyalty to speak up for him when he was indicted, something the sleazy Clintons did not do after taking his donations.

Lay and Enron were much more closely aligned and associated with the Clinton White House, much more so than to George Bush, yet the mass media hysteria and distortive mainstream media ignored those aspects of Enron and Lay because it did not fit their agenda.
