My screen name, petuniasevan, is actually a role-playing name from my childhood.
I have an autistic cousin who gave my brother and I special names, almost as recognition codes.
To this day, if we visit him we must identify ourselves by these names.

My DH uses the screen name poorman. He grew up military-brat-poor in the '70s.

Mine is as dry as they come. First name: Gretchen ... Last Name: Begins with E ... First Email account I signed up for already had a GretchenE and after many tries to keep my first name intact, without using numbers, the ISP accepted GretchenEE, which has, happily, not been taken in any other quarters that I've visited on the Internet so far, although I keep finding that GretchenE keeps arriving before me everywhere I go.

For 5 years I worked in a group home for Autistic folks. One of the clients that lived there gave everyone nick names, but knew our real names. I was Suezette. Years later I was working at a school, beginning of the year, new students...I'm walking down the hall to the buses and I hear "It's Suezette". I couldn't believe it. Just thought I would share this with you.
