The author tries to pull out of context to prove his point....but the whole picture is a different story. . . .
Simpsons ping!
This is some of the most amazing taking out of context I've ever seen! I absolutely LOVE the Simpsons, and about half of this is just skewed. (And it's really poorly written - it reads like an eighth-grader wrote it.)
That one episode where Homer decides not to go to church is an isolated incident (but it's hilarious). Homer never again skips church. Actually, the Simpsons are the only sitcom family who go to church every Sunday.

Homer has only skipped a half day of church more then the ever holy Ned Flanders.
Says something about the man.
Regardless if he catches up on sleep there.

I am probably the biggest Simpsons fan on FreeRepublic, and i think this is the worst article i have ever read about The Simpsons.
This one is probably the best I have ever read...
Homer Never Nods
The Importance of The Simpsons

Actually, the Simpsons are the only sitcom family who go to church every Sunday. The Sunday episode where Homer is listening to a football game on a walkman during the service. His team kicks the winning field goal just as the prayer is ending: "IT'S GOOD! IT'S GOOD!"
The Sunday episode where Bart slips "In-a-god-da-da-vida" in the hynmal is hilarious.
The Sunday picnic episode:
BART: "Come on dad, we're playing capture the flag."
HOMER: "Dad's done for the day. Why don't you go capture me some potato salad."
The Sunday episode where Rev Lovejoy is dragging out the sermon. Homer says, "Don't make me come up there!"
Great stuff!

Homer: What's the meaning of life?
God: I can't tell you that until you die.
Homer: OOH! I have to wait that long?
God: You can't wait six months?
The greatest episode was the one with Frank [Grimy] Grimes. That should be required viewing at every college graduation.
