Thanks, that's exactly what I need. I don't get enough of it to keep it retracted without it slipping.

Mechanical safties fail, people get tired or careless, things don't always go as expected.

Believe me, I'm not arguing that point, but I have heard of many people drawing their Glocks and getting their trigger caught. Since all those internal safeties are contingent on NOT pulling the trigger, that weapon is a prime candidate for alpha deltas.

In this case, however, that officer is just an idiot.

I don't know that it is a big hands/small hands thing, rather strength at the fingertip. The G30 fits my hand fine, but the tabs slide right past my fingertips.

Of course you can't see the hammer on a Glock because it does not have one Einstien....Jeez.KEEP YOUR FINGER OUT OF THE TRIGGER GUARD AND OFF THE TRIGGER AND PISTOL POINTED IN SAFE DIRECTION AND GLOCK WILL NOT GO BANG!!!Good God are people that friggin stupid?Guess so.

Rule #4: Be aware of your backstop...... As a matter of fact I managed to kill a kitchen floor tile over the weekend with my Ruger MkII .22/.45. The wife wasn't too happy about it, but I was glad that the tile was the only injured party...

Better crawl under the kitchen and check your sewer pipe, water pipe, phone lines, gas lines, etc etc... :-)

More on the shooting

The local Philly news is reporting that she was attending a "career day", at her child's school. Eye witnesses claim that she unloaded her Glock 17, and passed it around the classroom!

After she retrieved the weapon, she proceeded to reload it. During the loading process, she dropped the gun. As she was picking it up, she had the AD, grazing the student in the cheek.

People like this shouldn't be allowed own firearms, long knives, or even SUVs.

Such as the importance of reading and understanding the entire constitution rather than just the obligatory operations amendments like the 4th.

You are one in a million, my friend. Good for you!

If that is a true account of what happened, she needs to charged for being a f*$King moron. That has to be one of the dumbest things I've heard in quite awhile.

"I am a hardcore pro gun nut, but I just cringe everytime I see a Glock, reguardless if its loaded or not."

A Glock is no more or less dangerous than any other pistol by itself. The owner just has to follow a few simple safe gun handling procedures, like........you can fill in the blank here. I carried my glock in the field doing ranch work where it was exposed to every kind of abuse imaginable and never once did it accidentally discharge or malfunction. It has had about 3000-5000 rounds put through it since 1994 and still works just fine.

Aha. Funny how that works, be it a Glock or a SiG or a Colt. You pulls the trigger, it goes bang. Sigh...

Actually, this IS a case where a heavier trigger pull would probably have prevented the AD. But then, with people who pick up their weapon by the trigger, who knows? I'm just glad the kid is OK.

I bought a new KelTec P32 a few months ago. I've only had the chance to go out and exercise it once, but it jammed on nearly every other shot. Have to get it checked out. Also the mile long trigger pull was annoying. That said, it's so marvelously light weight that you could go jogging with it in your pocket and not even feel it. Easy to keep on hand for surprising would-be muggers, rapists, car-jackers, et al. Now if only I can get the thing to work a little more reliably . . .

Especially SUVs, which I'm sure kill a lot more people than firearms do.

The two in Michigan were in the same car. They hated each others guts, had some kind of feud brewing, and went over the top at the same time. As I recall one was male, the other female.

The NRA has three Safety Rules for gun handling :

The Officer needs to take an NRA safe gun handling course.

Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
