Found this exerpt from an article posted from TOWNHALL.COM...

A particular point about campaign finance is worth making again and again. It is that moneyed people aren't the problem when it comes to campaign finance. The problem is a federal government with seemingly unlimited power to dispense favors. The more the government undertakes to do for us, the more it tempts those with special needs or desires. You get your needs noticed -- how? By giving money, of course. But that's political philosophy, which, as I say, isn't what this debate is about. We should prepare ourselves this week to hear the language of envy spoken with more vigor than at any time since, oh, the tax-cut debate. - Bill Murchison, Townhall.com

THREE separate bills will be debated and voted upon today. The Shays-Meehan bill and a bill by Bob Ney and another one by Dick Armey.

Once they pass one of the three, it becomes the base bill. Then, numerous amendments are expected to be debated. Should be a long, long day.

Turn on C-Span if you can, the debate is set to start...LET'S ROLL!!!

Time to keep a watch on it. Those Freepers with cable TV help keep us updated on the proceedings on the House floor.

I'm home fixing the car today - will keep y'all posted. Right now they're voting on something about a "Journal" - Republicans winning 375-40 so far - must just be a formality.

Yes they're voting on yesterday's journal of House activity. This is basicly to get a quorum in the House - i.e. to tell everyone to get their butts in the seats - it's time to get this show on the road!

378(R), 40(D), 17(NV) = 435

They're yelling that the House is not in order now. SEVENTEEN NOT VOTING !?!? I hope these are Shays-Mehan Reps who aren't there. Every damn anti-CFR Rep better be there today!! They weren't last time! They weren't when the airport security boondoggle was up for vote either.

Thanks for the ping dittomom!

All of us should be asking our elected representatives one question:

"What makes you think you have the right to tell me who I can give my money to, and how much??!"

The leftists pushing this unconstitutional legislation have NO answer for that question, and can only squirm and evade when asked it.

This is one of those times when we are forced to (metaphorically and politically speaking) 'show 'em the rope, and point at the branch'... :-)

Thanks for the ping, dittomom. How's the weather out there in AZ? Gosh, I sure miss the West...

I called my rep (Dan Miller, R-FL) yesterday, and got my neighbor, mom and wife to do the same.

"The First Amendment is NOT a LOOPHOLE!"
