Don't forget State Senator Tom McClintock running for Controller,State of California. Recent Riverside Press Enterprise endorsement gives Senator Tom McClintock a vote of confidence in upcoming primary. "A more spirited contest comes in the controller's primary: Dean Andal of Stockton, who is termed-out on the Board of Equalization, vs. Sen. Tom McClintock of Northridge, who has been in and out of the Legislature since 1982. Dean Andal didn't distinguish himself in the Assembly, and on the Board of Equalization, it's hard to know what would stand out there. Tom McClintock, on the other hand, is anything but bland. He is as conservative as they make 'em and as maverick as they come. He can be a common scold, and he can be the conscientious voice of fiscal reason. He can also be effective: His hammering away at the vehicle license tax led to its reduction. Tom McClintock won the party's nomination for controller before (1994) and made an interesting race of it. He deserves another try."
