A hardline Iranian cleric yesterday called for the deaths of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and U.S. President George W. Bush.
"If it be through the death of Sharon or the death of Bush, please brighten-up our hearts, O Lord," Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati told thousands of worshippers gathered at the Tehran University campus in a sermon broadcast on state radio.
The remarks by the hardline cleric, who heads the powerful Guardian Council, highlighted Iran's tense relations with its arch-enemies, Israel and the United States.
Jannati is known for his fiery rhetoric during Friday prayer sermons, which are often interrupted by chants of "Death to America" and "Death to Israel".
Bush has denounced Iran, along with Iraq and North Korea, as part of an "axis of evil" bent on supporting terrorism and acquiring weapons of mass destruction. The Islamic republic rejects both charges.
Iran, which has close ties with militant groups, has been vocal in its condemnation of Israel during a Palestinian intifada, or uprising in which at least 908 Palestinians and 280 Israelis have been killed. Iran condemns Israeli attacks on Palestinians.
Pray for GWB
Sadly, their university campus doesn't a lot different than some of our own. After saying such "open-minded" things this guy will probably be a guest at Berkeley sometime in the near future.
More anti-American brainwashing of Iran's youth.
Course, that's provided that there is anything left after the Israelis let loose. Apparently no one in the region remembers the 6 day war.

The top quote is from London's left wing "New Statesman" in another post. Of course, the lower is from this post. The top is a result of our opposition to leftist terrorists in Columbia. The second is from fundamentalist Islam. This seems a marriage made in hell.

Better that they be interrupted by chants of "Oh, $#i+! Incoming Missiles!"
The Ayatollah Khomeini responding to apologists for Islam
(Taheri, Amir, Holy Terror, London 1987, pp. 226-7):
Islam makes it incumbent on all adult males, provided they are not disabled and incapacitated, to prepare themselves for the conquest of other [countries] so that the writ of Islam is obeyed in every country in the world. But those who study Islamic Holy War will understand why Islam wants to conquer the whole world...Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless. Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all! Does this mean that Muslims should sit back until they are devoured [by the unbelievers]? Islam says: Kill them [the non-Muslims], put them to the sword and scatter [their armies]. Does this mean sitting back until [non-Muslims] overcome us? Islam says: Kill in the service of Allah those who may want to kill you! Does this mean that we should surrender to the enemy? Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for Holy Warriors! There are hundreds of other [Koranic] psalms and Hadiths [sayings of the Prophet] urging Muslims to value war and to fight. Does all that mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.
Also from him:
We shall export our revolution, to the whole world. Until the cry 'Allahu Akbar' resounds over the whole world.
