Now, you can get some things right by accident. Certainly the CREATION of Israel in 1947 meant that anyone prophesying a "war" or "conflict" in parts of that region would be on pretty solid ground pretty much any time. But the measuring stick for a prophet of God is MUCH higher. The Bible says that all their prophecies will come true. So if he is off in so much as a single detail, the Bible says he is not to be listened to. It doesn't say to "dis" him, and I don't. But I remind my brothers and sisters that a prophet whose prophecies do not come true is not being given those prophecies by God.
Back in the 1970's nearly everyone was predicting the end of the world. The signs were there. Then again the signs were there in the 1930's too.
You accuse Hal Lindsey of being a "prophet" which he has NEVER claimed for himself, and then when he gets things wrong, you call him a false prophet. That's mighty Christian of you. What sins have you committed lately?
You set up a straw man and then knocked it down. Wow.
Yes you do owe Mr. Lindsey an apology. Unless you can show me where he made some "prophecy" about the end of the world in the 1980's. If you can do that you will see me apologize to you and condemn Lindsey in the same sentence
Now are you up to the challenge? Or do you think you can just trash people on FR and not answer for it?
What will it be? Documentation or an apology? I'll be here all night.
I know for a fact that he loves the Lord with all his heart and also know for a fact that even he knows that he is not a perfect human being. He admits to making mistakes in his past and owns up to them.
I know for a fact that if you followed Hal's teaching in any way, you would know that he teaches much, much more than prophesy and many have come to know Christ through his teaching, including myself and most of my family.
In the Late Great Planet Earth there is a sentence in there where Hal uses the phrase "I predict" but in the same paragraph he also states that he isn't a prophet and it is just his interpretation.
Many (not all)Hal bashers refer to that one phrase to condemn him on everything that comes out of his mouth.
I would really appreciate you coming up with some sort of proof that Hal has ever called himself a prophet.
