Mallard's attorney, Mike Heiskell, said the accusation against her was unwarranted.

"I think this is overreaching on the part of the prosecution and the police and, in the end, I believe the law will shake out that this was simply a case of failure to stop and render aid," he said.

I sometimes wonder if attorneys not only talk this way, they actually think this way.

If the perp had called her, attorney would he have advised her to do nothing to incriminate herself? Heck, she already hit-and-ran. What's she supposed to do? Drive back to the scene?

And her friends: accomplices after the fact. We live in a Culture of Death. These savages are everywhere!

And I fear it is worst at the very top. Pleae don't let tales like this make you hardened and cynical. It's what the most cynical need you to become.
Disappoint them. Awaken your heart and spark the hearts of all you know. In so doing you'll help drive out the savages.

God will bless you.
