ANSWER THE QUESTION DANE Wow somebody is angry. Are you ashamed of your non-educated non-english speaking ancestors who found a better life in America?

The more things change the more things stay the same. 200 years ago it was the Germans invading America, 100 years ago it was the Irish. The vast majority of them came through Ellis Island and came legally. Many Mexicans also make the decision to come legally -----amnesty just rewards law-breakers.

Simple question you seem to be avoiding. How many millions more is enough for people like you? 50 million? 120 million? How many Dane?
To: Dane
the immigrants who bus tables and clean toiletsAs many of the illegals work for the Mexican drug cartels and are here as part of the vast drug distribution they manage here. Blanket amnesty means no background checks at all ---anyone can claim they were here for the required time, they dont' have to prove anything. I'm sure right now thousands are pouring over the border to claim their amnesty ----drug cartel included.

Do you know any incidences of Canadian illegals? Or are you making up stories to bolster your argument.

They also did the jobs no one wanted. They worked hard to make a better life for their family. They also faced scorn.

Just saw one of the local NY congressman on tv recently (not mine), but his name is Jim Walsh out of the 25th district. He's the one who set up the program. According to him, they're begging for takers. If anything, many Irish immigrants here are going back home. You should contact his office if you're serious about getting a visa. Even so, I think Ireland is one of 29 countries where you can get a visa waiver. It's very easy for you to visit here if you want.
As far Europe, it's sort of a love/hate thing with them we have. Most of us with ancestors from that part of the world haven't forgotton the old countries. It's just they're always whining about us over there. Makes me wonder if they're a little envious sometimes.

I do a lot of home visits, and I've seen eight to 10 people in one bedroom. We have a lot of that here-- I've seen where there's that many in the bedrooms but also that many sleeping in the living room. They only need to do that until they get their amnesty ---then they qualify for HUD housing and can get a lot more comfortable at taxpayer expense.

This passed tonight. Good job congress. Despite the head in the sand crowd, America still remains a melting pot.

Libertarians who the only things they like Mexican, is the pot. I'm not a Libertarian and I don't like pot----but where do you think most of the drugs are coming from, and who do you think brings them into this country? Very many illegals are directly involved with the drug trade. I guess the politically correct word now to use to refer to them is "pharmaceutical distributors from Mexico.

Congress and Bush betrayed the people of the United States - it's now payback time.
To: Dane
They all are blanket amnesties ---just like the 1980s was. For one the fact that these people are "undocumented" means they have no real proof they've lived here. Just like last time ---they are paid cash under the table or are using false documents to get paychecks (felony fraud BTW) so their "proof" amounts to getting someone to write a notarized letter stating they had employed them for the required time.

It's amazing when you read stories like that and the attitude is they have a right not only enter as they please, but that we should reward them for it with amnesties. They're not even trying to hide their intentions. Everyone sees it but the quislings in Congress apparently.

In Washington state, the parties are fighting over raising of taxes. The differences in their plan is $.01, Democrats want a 9 cent a gallon gas tax, Republicans are fighting tooth and nail for 8 cents. The Democratic governor promised a vote of the people on this issue, but the Republicans are now making noises about how they were sent to do the peoples business, and putting it to a vote, is a shirking of responsibility.

Ah, VA Advocado, another illegal alien apologist who thinks taxpaying Americans should be killed or worse for consuming substances he doesn't approve of. Is there a connection I'm missing here?
