Dan's east coast program was pretty lackluster tonight. He led with the Yates story out of Texas. Tragic, yes, but I hardly feel that it warrants nearly five minutes off the top of the CBS Evening News, where Dan is both anchor and managing editor of the broadcast. Finally, there was some foreign policy segments about Cheney's Middle East tour, and then the David Martin Operation Anaconda piece (David - your tie was much too busy tonight and looked odd against your dark shirt and dark suit). Dan wrapped it up with a sad piece on the recovery of the FDNY personnel at the Pile, and the funeral of an air force PJ killed in Afghanistan. Dan appeared sad, but composed at the end.

I know you all (especially my west coast crew) look forward to this every night...

Dan rather is a liar, a phony and a communist sympathizer.

Well, I still consider Mr. Rather to be the Dean of all anchors and a very well-dressed man. His patriotism shines with each broadcast. Give him a chance, Smedley.

I am on the west coast, and totally uninterested in what you think of Dan Rather.

Well, someone put a great deal of time and money into that anti-Dan website. I see the fingerprints of a certain "Brokaw" and a certain "Jennings" all over this abomination! For shame, sir. For shame!

And I'm sure you loved the Emperor's new clothes too.

Well,G., if I don't start receiving more positive input on my Rather updates by this Friday, then I will cease the updates. I report, you decide. If you all don't appreciate my insight into the CBS Evening News broadcasts (and you aren't the first Freepnik to hint that there is a minor level of hostility towards Dan out there in Freepland) then I will take my football and go home...

I'm on the west coast but never watch Mr. Bias himself alias Danny Boy. Always turn the channel to something more interesting.

It would have been nice if you had reported Dan's activities a few years ago. For example, you could have told us when he wanted to know:
(1) Who hired Craig Livingstone?
(2)Why the park police were so inept in the Foster investigation.
(3)Where the billing records were two years before they were found.
(4) Who was on Hillary's healthcare task force.
You know, just little things like that.

Oh, you're just awful ;-). ---I have to go out and watch NYPD Blue now. I await some pro-Dan (or at least neutral-Dan comments) while I'm away for a couple hours.

His patriotism shines with each broadcast. His patriotism shines as brightly as the flag pin on his lapel. Real patriots don't lie about their military service. You are in love with a commie.

Well,G., if I don't start receiving more positive input on my Rather updates by this Friday, then I will cease the updates. It's a deal, then.
I'm on the east coast and I don't care what you have to say about Dan Rather either.
If I wanted to know what D.R says, I'd buy a TV and watch his program.
I clicked on this thread because I thought he had swallowed some weed killer, or some cowboys had him cornered...

Yup.
(5) Where did the videotape go from the
camera surveilling the parking lot when
Foster was supposed to have left the office?

You have GOT to be kidding. I think he's being facetious (jocular, droll, pungent, waggish). Yes, definately waggish. lol!
