I can't fantham the reason for this, either, but there is something I find very confusing: The three most conservative house members I know (Tom Delay, Ron Paul, and Lamar Smith--all of Texas) voted for this. What's with that? The only thing I can figure is that these three have either taken leave of their senses, or I'm looking at this thing in the wrong light.
I wish they would come forward and explain themselves.
because they are coming from the libertarian side of conservatism or the family values side (don't break up families while the INS is reviewing their residency status)
