"Dick Armey says all this bill does is allow aliens who came in on legal visas, whose visas expired because of the inability of the bureaucracy to process their citizenships, to have an extension of time before they are deported.""

Did you see him on FNC, ez? You wrote exactly what Armey said. The INS is incompetant...I hope heads roll. Now it's making sense. CR, hope this helps. I really do wish someone in the Administration had explained the bill before it was up for the vote.

Thanks for clearing that up. I get a little "knee-jerky" on this subject (I even had the pleasure of someone calling one of my posts in this thread the dumbest they had ever seen -- the highlight of my day). I did wonder why Armey and Lamar Smith (my representative) would support it since they both have been quite strong against the amnesty insanity in the past. Thanks for the new perpective.

My name comes from my respect for the wisdom of our founding fathers who established this nation as a Republic with a wonderful Constitution that we regulary ignore at our peril. We would solve so many of the problems we face as a nation if we returned to using the wisdom of the Constitution as a yardstick for governing.

LOL I hate when that happens! Don't take it personally, though. Have you seen some of the insults thrown around here tonight? I understand the "knee-jerky" thing...I feel the same way.

This is so true.
