That is a piece of fiction from a Clancy book. The villian was a terrorist wasn't he? That quote you posted certainly does reflect the 'mindset' of 'certain types.' Good post!

Accident - I think not - several passes were made by the planes and the ship was familiar to IDF> They were just being their typical paraniod selves.
