Terrorists Attack and the Media Distorts
March 14, 2002
Israelis are being subjected to a soul-searing onslaught of terrorist attacks (see list of attacks at bottom) in their homes, cafes, pizzerias, markets, wedding halls, cars, highways and border checkpoints. Yet many in the media have been minimizing attention on the brutal Palestinian terrorism while emphasizing the focus on Israel's military response.
Often articles will include emotional quotations from Palestinians about how they felt during a military attack on a nearby building, while rarely are Israelis asked to describe their feelings about witnessing or being subjected to a terrorist attack. Often, more attention is paid to the bombing of empty Palestinian Authority police buildings, which resulted in no deaths, than to terrorist attacks which resulted in numerous deaths of Israeli civilians.
A frequent distortion seen in reports of the conflict is the tally of the dead. For example, in a Reuters report ("Europe and U.S. Press Sharon to Halt Military Action as 3 Are Killed) that appeared in the March 10 New York Times, the last paragraph states, "At least 1012 Palestinians and 319 Israelis have been killed since the Palestinian uprising began after peace talks stalled." It would be much more fair to write: "More than 319 Israelis have been killed most of them civilians targeted by Palestinian terrorists while more than 1012 Palestinians have been killed, usually while engaged in violent attacks against Israelis."
Reporters rarely make clear that most of the Israeli victims have been civilians killed in terrorist attacks, while most of the Palestinian dead have been killed as a result of their participation in violence against Israel.
This is an important distinction that needs to be stressed. Surely no respected reporter would make a moral equivalence between the US's justified military response to Al Qaeda, and Al Qaeda's barbaric 9/11 attacks against the US. Since this is the case, it is certainly a double standard for the press to portray Israel's fight against terrorism as an unjustified overreaction.
It is also offensive for reporters to glorify terrorists with photos and sympathetic human interest stories about their lives and families (e.g. "Portrait of an Angry Young Arab Woman" by New York Times' Joel Greenberg, March 1, 2002), especially when so few human interest stories are done about the Israeli victims!
At times the media completely omits mention of Israeli victims! For example, in a March 10 New York Times graphic ("One Week: A Grim Toll in the Mideast"), the horrifying Palestinian terrorist attack in Beit Yisrael, which killed 10 people including 6 children, was described this way: "Saturday, March 2: A Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up in an Orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem." The New York Times didn't find it newsworthy to mention that 10 Jews were murdered, leaving the impression the death of the bomber was the total extent of that day's "grim toll." [Please note, the New York Times did report on this attack elsewhere, but in this particular graphic, which was supposed to focus on the number killed the Israeli deaths were omitted.]
On March 5, there were four separate terrorist attacks against Israelis resulting in 5 deaths, yet the Times graphic only mentions one attack which killed 3.
The true extent of terrorism against Israelis is also frequently distorted and minimized by the media when attacks that don't kill anyone are ignored, even if there are numerous injuries and even if the attack had the potential for many deaths. On March 7, there were 3 terrorist attacks, and another 2 terrorist attacks that were foiled by alert Israeli civilians. On a day where there were 5 attempts to kill massive numbers of Israelis, in many news accounts only the attack which resulted in deaths was even mentioned.
The media also frequently distort the news through verbal contortions aimed at avoiding the use of the word "terrorist."
With all the pictures AP sends out throughout the world showing the events of The Oslo War, you might see something besides the "plight of the poor Palestinians" ... and then again, maybe you wouldn't.
While we do not know the political beliefs of their journalists, we do know that most of the pictures coming from Israel are taken by Arabs. Don't believe us? Just go to: Yahoo News Page and do a search for news photos, using some key words like: Israel, Ramallah, Gaza, etc. and see for yourself!
Even taking in account political beliefs, you would think that a journalist must take pictures of "hot stories" - no matter what, right?Well, how about a story of the "collaborator" hung up in central Ramallah just a few days ago? True - the two pictures that they did take got into the press - but, for some reason, AP has deleted them from their photo database ...
Well then, how about the story of the two "collaborators" that were killed, mutilated, and then dragged through the streets of biblical Bethlehem and layed out in Manger Square. Well - there also were two pictures.
Notice the word "were" since AP deleted these also - just minutes after GAMLA took them.
We have heard the story before ... AP gave into Arab pressure and threats before, and it goes on all the time.
Maybe we should call this: "The Arab Lynch of the Free Press"?
In any case - all those who want to view these (graphic) pictures may do so FREELY by Clicking on the link below. We strongly suggest that these pictures get emailed to as many people you can send them to. A lynch in Manger Square should be a strong message as to the myth of "Arab" solidarity with the Christian world.
Whether or not the scumbag wire services report news from Israel fairly, most people "get it" anyway.
Israel must be relentless in its cockroach extermination efforts.
The ration, 319 to 1012, could be improved.
Typical of the Jew-hating secular liberal media, all claims of tolerance, compassion and diversity to the contrary. How American Jews can so overwhelmingly support the fraud of liberalism is beyond me.
This has always been a head scratcher with me, too.
Like with every other kind of people, you have some who are not exactly the brightest bulbs in the chandalier. But there does seem to be a disproportionate number of American Jews who are rabid liberals. They even support gun control, LOFL !!!! They may as well be saying, "Sure. You want me on that train? In that boxcar over there? Well, I don't suppose I have much choice in the matter....."
The stupidity is overwhelming.
But we don't see what happens to Israeli victims. And we don't see people jumping from the WTC. That would be insensitive.
I decided last night that when reporters say something would be insensitive, they mean it wouldn't support their overall agenda.
Early this year Geraldo Rivera became a field reporter for FoxNews. He is now reporting from the Middle East. On the evening of Mar.13, 2002 he reported from Jerusalem his opinions on the current wave of Arab terrorism and Israeli responses. Here are his ridiculous findings:
1. By responding to the indescriminate Arab terrorism against Israeli citizens, the IDF has become just like the terrorists they are fighting.
2. The washable ink I.D. markings the IDF applies to suspected Arab terrorists prior to interrigation, are like the Nazi tattooing of Jews during the Holocaust!
3. His heart breaks when he thinks about 12 year old Mohammed al-Dura who was "killed in the crossfire." [Is it possible that he does not know that the Palestinians murdered "Little Mo" and made it look like the IDF did it!
We at Masada2000.org have contacted Brit Hume at FoxNews. It was on his Special Report" news show that Rivera spouted his typically leftwing bias against Israel... all the while claiming he is a long time Zionist who would give his life for Israel!
Brit Hume is one of the best reporter/commentators in the news business. He is also very well-versed on the Arab-Israeli conflict and has long been a strong supporter of Israel's right to exist. Even HE was a bit stunned by Rivera's baffling remarks. If more people like Rivera join FoxNews, FoxNews will be just another pro-Arab CNN!
If you wish to express your views to Mr. Hume send him an email at special@foxnews.com

It is distressing to see so many people continue to ingest the lies of the prevailing media. Here's another link which shows that the DECEPTION is stratospheric in proportions:
President's Popularity remains stratospheric, defying all 'conventional wisdom'
