The most serious thing I see here is an ABJECT LACK OF JUDGEMENT this creature had (I can't bring myself to call her a human). My dog can judge right from wrong better than she can. I hope that her actions represent very few Americans, but I doubt it.
Thanks for the ping, Meekie. Now she'll be in court twice (like O.J.), civil and criminal. Civil will be for restitution, and as several already observed, he'll probably get nothing . . . . she have a judgment against her in court....but if she declares bankruptcy, the judgment might even come off her debts and then in 7 years, the bankruptcy filing will come off..... (Maybe this poor boy's lawyer has taken on contingency, or free, and the boy will be charged nothing....there are still some kind-hearted lawyers out there.) The criminal charges, however, which I can't believe can be defeated, won't go away.....and good luck if she ever tries to get a job as a nurse.....no luck (I would hope) with a felony conviction.
Then, there's God who sees all, knows all.....and I'd rather take proper consequences with people than with Him for this type of evil deed. He will surely avenge this wrong, and that will be forever.
She owns a house. I believe her parents bought it for her. So, she may have homeowner's/liability insurance.
You know, I'm a little surprised she is still in jail. I hear that her Dad and brother are decent humans. And her Dad has some rental property - so I'm told. Maybe Dad has decided to withhold the purse strings to make her think about what she has done??? She is the "black sheep" in the family, and maybe he's trying to teach her a lesson?? Just thinkin' out loud here. . .
She owns it? I thought that maybe her Dad owned it and let her live in it. I heard he owns a number of rental homes and that hers might be one of them. This is second-hand info, tho. . .
So am I; I had heard that she got out again.....I guess that info. was wrong. And I hope her dad is trying to teach her a lesson.....this is just awful. If my kids did this, I would be beside myself.
Does the NAACP think this ACP?
Oh, Well. They're not concerned about ACP or CP, anyway. The NAACP is about power and $$$ for the top dogs.
The story update last Saturday said that she would have to spend the weekend in jail, but stated that she was expected to post bail on Monday. She is still in according to the update Wednesday and today. Maybe Daddy wants to let her cool her heels a little bit. "Sorry, Babe. How 'bout another weekend in the Cross-Bar Hotel honey?? Are you enjoyin' yourself in there?? How's the food?. . ." Etc., etc., etc. . . .
When he confronts her, what do you think she'll say?
Speaking to his father's killer may open his eyes to reality.
Here's hoping.
But you are most likely correct, no insurance, and who do we sue? The State of Texas for allowing her to drive without insurance?
Thank goodness you raised your kids better than to do something like this, though. I can't imagine anyone doin' what she did. I mean, I can imagine running over someone accidentally. But I can't imagine driving on with them impaled in the windshield, parking the car in the garage and then hangin' around waiting for the victim to die, and not raising a finger (literally) to call 911 for help. . .

I checked and she (Mallard) owns a home.
Myself. No catch 'n release this time? Maybe daddy don't have the bucks. Doesn't it take about 10% downstroke, or $25,000 in this case, to get a bail/bondsman to cover the cost of bail????
The picture of the perp just blows me away. There's nothing behind those dead eyes.......spooky.
FGS
Your vocation has some side benefits, no?

Yeah, 10% is what I have heard too. That's not from personal experience, mind you! LOL! Never wore those shoes.
She IS evil, from her actions/failure to act. . .
Thanks for that.
Are you in the real estate biz??. . .
I guess that I just have an insensitive world view, but I don't believe in compensating for death with money. Chances are greater that this guy would have ended up dependent on his kid then the kid would be depending on him. (I do believe that dependent children and spouses who relied on the decedent are an entirely different matter, but they shouldn't be able to cash in when their loved one dies, without regard to their ages or living situations.)
