[history]
Sen. John McCain yesterday expressed skepticism about reports that Iraq is holding Navy pilot Lt. Cmdr. Michael Scott Speicher 11 years after his plane was shot down during the Persian Gulf war.
Although the Arizona Republican said there was sufficient evidence to investigate the pilot's fate, he wondered in an interview on "Fox News Sunday" why Saddam Hussein still would be holding Cmdr. Speicher.

McCain is consistent. He always takes the "no POW's" side of the argument.
I would disagree with his point on why Iraq would keep one prisoner back. They gave the rest back because we could account for them as missing. This pilot had been listed as dead, so we weren't asking for him back.

. . .good point; and should answer anyone who asks; but why would MCCain look for the 'fair and rational' from Saddam?
Why as why. . .from a madman?

McCain is a real war hero {but a lousy fighter air plane driver] but why is he so contrary to everything GWB wants. I hate to say this but he is just goofy.Saddamn would keep one of our guys as a pet for Christ sake, he is a sicko and the world knows it. Why, right out of the box, with no special knowledge, does Sen. McCantunderstandhelost have to side with the other guys? The reason my friends is that ST. Johnny has lost it, he`s two tacos short of a combo plate

The front is united, McCain was never a part of it. He has opposed Presdient Bush ever since he lost in the primaries. McCain would disagree that the sky was blue if Bush said it was.

Of course he would; and and any sane, rational person would realize this.
More difficult to answer is the 'why' of McCain. . .too long in isolation; or just his Liberalism overriding the rational.
. . .and while the 'why' is still questionable; hope his Republican supporters are waking up at to the 'who'. . .

In case you didn't know, Saddam held an Iranian pilot for 13 years. He is quite capable of doing this.
McCain is consumed with his resentment at President Bush and the Republican party as a whole.

"McCain is consumed with his resentment at President Bush and the Republican party as a whole." Or...McCain is just plain, old nuts...resentful of anyone younger, taller, smarter, better looking, more powerful...etc.
McCain definately took one too many blows to the head.
