Most of them dont want their names used and they are reluctant to have their pictures taken.
They insist that they are not ashamed of their addiction. But some admit that their spouses, children and parents dont know about their habit or still believe theyve quit.
Wussies. If you smoke you should have the b*lls to admit it to anyone that wants to know.

Can ANYONE tell me why a person wouldn't want their picture taken or their name used?
At least if they're being honest with people.

Some dont mind being pushed outside to smoke. It gives me a chance to get outdoors in the fresh air
does this comment strike anyone else as amusing/ironic?

Luckily, I quit just before the anti-smoking crowd won the war.

If we legalize marijuana, will I be able to smoke it at my workstation?

If you really want to hear what is going on at a company, visit the smoking area for a while.

As someone who quit smoking 10 months ago, I have a very selfish reason for wanting the fedgov busybodies to BAN cigarettes, cigars, and the like.......I've love to see all the bitchers have to stick more of their precious $$$$$ into the state and fed coffers to pay for everybody elses' kiddies to have health insurance, to pay scumbag lawyers, to pay for enhancing habitat of 'endangered' species, and the like.
I can't wait to see all the pissed off do-gooders......but it ain't gonna happen, if course, the sumsabeaches in power know where the money comes from.....
As to your big concern over these people not wanting their names or pictures taken, would you object if you were photo'd and id'd after having an orgasm--that is, if you do? Your question is about as ridiculous as mine.....regards :)

Once did some work for a company that had two coat rooms for the employees, one for smokers and one for non-smokers. Seems the non-smokers didn't want the smell from the smokers coats to spread to theirs.

Smokers should unite , form a powerful lobby and DEMAND the government spend more $$$$ on a cure for lung cancer. They could even get celebrities to wear BROWN RIBBONS
Hell of the Rump rangers can garner all their sympathy for AIDS why not smokers for lung cancer. I fail to see the difference

I tried to quit for 40 years.
Butts were 10 cents a pack on Okinawa and in Tokyo and I'd get a carton of Camels and a carton of Pall Malls for the month.
Finally, I got a solid mindset to quit and tried acupuncture (electronic) at a cost of $40 for the chiropractor-acupuncturist.
I left his office 10 years ago and have never smoked since.
Let me modify that statement.
If I'm out playing some rip-off tickets and have a couple of martinis, I can smoke a couple of cigs and not get re-hooked.
For those who want to quit I suggest: 1. Keep trying...one day it will click; 2. Try acupuncture with a mindset to quit...it will work for many and; 3. Remember what it cost you to smoke a pack when you started vs what you are paying today.

Others hate it. They are tired of being told when and where they can smoke. Theyve been banned from malls, restaurants, even their own homes. And they dont think it is fair. My company or mall, my rules. Don't like it? Open your own smoking mall?

I think smokers should sue under the disabilities act and if they win force every company in the country to install adequate facilities for their smoking. I would die laughing if that ridiculous law could be put to use poking a stick in the eyes of all the self righteous puritans who insist smoking is only a little less offensive than infanticide.

But she could do without the lectures that come when she returns. She could try what I did when a stranger came up to me, burning one outside the buiding, and told me I shouldn't smoke:
"My grandfather lived to be 100 years old," I replied.
"Did he smoke?"
"No, he just minded his own damn business."
Kinda threw him off.

Can someone please explain what this article is doing in a newspaper. "Smokers take smoke-breaks."
Pardon my French, but, NFS.
