It's fashionable now that anytime Bush abandons conservative principles and moves left, someone "explains" the grand scheme behind it all. Yeah, Bush really showed them Dems by removing any hope of school vouchers, didn't he? He'll sure fix their wagon by signing CFR!

To a checker player I am sure your view is correct, but to a chess player it makes perfect sense. Should I king you now?

"It is lunacy — sheer lunacy — that the president would request, and the House would pass, such an amnesty at this time. That point seems obvious to the American people, if not to the administration," Mr. Byrd said on the Senate floor.

Might as well - apparently I'm just a pawn in Bush's vote buying schemes.

Bump.

This "Grand Scheme" business is the pure wishful thinking. Jorge & co. really want an amnesty - and not just the mini-amnesty that's 245i. They want it for millions of illegals. The Washington Times noted today that when GOP House members asked for White House assurances that 245i would be the final amnesty...the Bushies said, No, it would not be the last.
